I haven't done any real sewing since my divorce in approx 2002.
Until then I made an incredible amount of clothes, including christening
outfits for my kids. They were christened in one go, one a baby, the
other a toddler. And clothes for their 1st communion. Raw embroidered
ivory silk for my girl's dress.
Winter coats, summer coats, whatever I liked for the kids I made.
I often went into an Oilily shop -which we couldn't afford-, remembered
the pattern and style of different fabrics used in one garment, then
made my own :)
My kids always looked the part. I never had lessons, I taught myself.
For some reason I was done with it after the divorce and I've
rarely touched the machine since. I still got one, never even
threaded it, would have to look up on Google how to do that now, haha.
