I don't know if this is the right place for this. Did anyone hear about this Fish and Game worker from Idaho going to Africa and killed a giraffe, a leopard and a whole family of baboons? That's not right. There were pictures of this guy on the internet and he grinning by his kill. Why are you so happy? What does everyone think of this? I'm angry.

Be careful what you believe.

In certain African countries, such hunts are often tightly controlled by the government to cull the aging and infirm animals from the herds. The government receives revenue while the meat and hides are given to local villages.

This has been well-documented.

Not only has it been mentioned by numerous African writers, but I have family members who could corroborate this. My mother went on safari to Tanzania a few years back, before she died. My cousin who worked 30 years for the U.S. State Dept. was stationed in Kenya for awhile, which is where his son was born.

Believe what you want. All the information is available on the internet. In fact, he most likely did NOT kill all of those baboons. His guides likely killed a few, but let him take the credit. Otherwise, the Namibian government would have arrested him for illegal poaching (limit of 2 per species per person).

Btw, why are you trying to get someone to email you offsite? We have free email here. spock

Killing for food, i can respect.
Killing to defend oneself, i can understand.

Slaughtering for sport, rates contempt.

Don't post pictures because you're so proud of killing it. I love cats. it kills me to see a dead leopard.

Why are people so happy to kill other people?

Don't try to understand it. You'll only drive yourself insane. It's just one of those things.

I've never hunted personally. I would if I had to, but I tend to follow the Lakota way when it comes to such things. Eat the meat. Use the hide for clothing, shelter, and tools. Use the sinew for twine and cord. Etc. But I've never had any desire to hunt for sport.

Signed. I also detest killing animals for their fur, skin, etc. And animal testing should be banned as well.

As long as the animal is being used for food ect and to thin the herd I do not have a issue with it..

Most have no idea how these hunts are done, nor have actually looked into what happens on these hunts that are monitored. The hunts are used to control the herds and the meat is giving to the villages for food as well as what is left fur ect...

Sure they are charged big money to go on the hunts and the money also goes to provide for some as well...

It is no different then those right here in the states that go Deer Hunting, it is for food and to help thin out the herds..

Yes it is a sport for some but in the end it also feeds the villages~~

It's also very corrupt and killing off protected and endangered animals needlessly.
