or yet possibly get paranoid about certain things... that is happening in your life ... sometimes ... and is mysterious to you ...

and say to yourself seriously... does not have to be around Halloween ... can be anytime ... you may come across some things ...

Not in ridiculous superstitious things like "step on a crack, break your mother's back", or "walk under a ladder". Things like that just defy the rules of logic. But to a small degree I am paranoid. Like right now I have a very good friend, in fact one who has recently left Mingle. We talk on our cells and through emails and if I do not hear from her in even a day I feel I did or said something wrong which is not the case because she will tell me not to feel that way because it is not even close to why, so yes I do feel paranoid in a small way.

I'm not really superstitious but there is some merit in frequency. Sub-conscious association is also a valid condition that slants to superstitious beliefs.

If you tell yourself you will have 'bad luck' because you broke a mirror while looking in it you tend to focus on the bad so you 'see' more of it.
In life, bad things do happen randomly.
If you take a lot of risks in life eventually something bad is going to happen. When it does, you can call it a superstition or you can just acknowledge that it is the random chance of a chaotic universe.

Superstitious validity can be tested but it requires great attention to detail over a long period of time.
To validate a superstition is a two fold process.
Not only does it require testing and documenting your own experiences it requires testing and documenting random people's experiences from the same superstition.

Cause and effect is the validator and for it to be a reality it must apply universally.
Superstition tends to be "relative to the observer".
Anything relative to the observer that can't be validated by another observer is not reality, it is perception.

I owned a black cat, it constantly crossed my path.
My trashman picks up trash and crushes it, some of that trash is mirrors.
If superstitions had validity in reality we would all be experiencing bad luck constantly.

Not all superstitions are bad.
There are 'good fortune' superstitions that have just the same validity and the bad luck ones.
Its all relative to one's own perceptions.

It is fun to read about all the different superstitions tho.
