I Know people give pets people food. I heard it is not good for pets digestive system. That is why companies make pet food. Not just for Profits.

Who feeds their pet Table scraps or off Your plate ?

Just curious !

Yeah, it's not good for them to eat human food... they start getting things like diabetes, heart conditions, obesity, cancer, arthritis, and just about every other disease known to "Man".

Makes me wonder if dog food would be better for us to eat? whoa

Can I add milk so it's more like cereal? tongue2

Mine strictly get doggie food and snacks. Grandma sometimes makes them puppy cookies that they get on holidays and Christmas.

Lol, I heard milk gives them runny poop! laugh

I've known a few people who made their own dog food, I imagine you could make doggie treats and market them.

I just find it amusing that some people seem to be more concerned with what they feed their animals than what they feed themselves.

My mom like most moms takes being a fur baby granny very seriously. She looks for recipes made just for her granddoggies.

I don't get to eat most things other people do so when I can I eat what i want

Yep me too. I have my little spouts of eating healthy and then indulging in stuff that wouldn't be good to eat everyday... like the fudge we got yesterday, lol.

That's very cool about your mom.

Some people are very concerned about what they feed their pets sometimes more than Themselves.

Like deli ham, steak, filet minion. etc etc .

My cats love fish and chicken breast. And they are fast. So for me there is vegetarian stir fry or roast veg with white sauce on the menue. Alright ... my cats are very fast indeed

I had my last dog for 12 years ( Loved that dog) , I gave him Alpo, but for the most part he ate what I ate.. except pasta.. he didn't like it. But any meat I ate... he ate.. AND he then got the bones

Sometimes on the weekends, he would jump in my pick up truck and we would go to the Burger King drive thru. He would eat his Whopper in a minute flat then try to get to mine... never did.

Did he eat healthy all the time?... nope.. but he ate like a king and had a long great life. No major problems, died of old age.

I don't feed scraps to my dog.

However, i will on occasion,
give beef to my dog.

Dogs are, afterall, carnivores.

Dogs are actually an omnivore. They need other than just meat.

Cats are Carnivores. Require higher meat protein.

Pet foods that do not contain wheat, soy or corn are best for them, just like it is better for us.

Correcting my statement. Dogs have carnivore traits (Their teeth etc), and preference to a carnivore diet as inherited from their wolf ancestry. But they thrive very well on an omnivore diet. Most of our pets foods use protein other than just meat be it cat or dog food. My other statement was what I was always taught when I worked for a veterinarian and sold Hills pet food.

Dogs are not geared for veggies and yes, very much milk will make their poop runny.

Cats and dogs do need vegetables. Don't you ever see them outside eating grass? Cats are not meant to digest cows milk.

My milk comment was meant to be funny like I was eating it lol. My cats nor dogs get milk. It makes them sick and makes allergies worse in cats.

Don't know anything about cats. Dogs eat grass either because they need minerals or most often to make themselves vomit!
To make themselves vomit! Get it?

I find that when I cook my dogs food it is better for them, plus they get a multi vitamin. I give them chicken, brown rice, pumpkin, ground turkey. I put it on top their dry food.
