Outlander season 4 started a few weeks ago, and I almost did not watch it. It's the bit where they've ended up in the Americas, and not that that is a problem for me, hihi. It's more that I didn't like the 3rd season too much, and I wasn't too keen on half of the 2nd season either which was mostly set in Paris. I'm not interested in France and French history and it was so disappointing after the excellent 1st season in Scotland.
So I was about to give up on the series.
Am I GLAD I didn't!! I'm not sure why the woman dipped in the 2nd & 3rd season & book, possibly because she a yank and cannot relate to Europe so well. And now it's in the US which is home territory? Not sure, could be possible, I know writing about something you don't really 100% have affinity with sux big time.

In any case, Diana Gabaldon -author- has outdone herself in this season. It's freaking awesome!
As a matter of fact, this season is the best ever since that outstanding 1st one.

One other thing that made me hesitant at first is the fact both Jamie & Claire are now quite old. She is 50-ish now in the series, likely in her 50s. Nothing wrong with that, but I don't really like love stories when the main characters are in their 50s.

Anywho, it's brilliant! There were some very interesting interactions with Indians, most authentic Indian actors btw. But the huge gap between the Indians' far wiser and more developed view and understanding of life, the Universe & everything and the limited minds of the colonists from that time AND Claire -who as a more modern woman- is smack in the middle of that.
The depth of that... stunning!

Anyone else still watching the series?

I liked the first three seasons of it,but I will wait until the new series finishes, and then buy it on DVD so that I can binge watch the whole thing because I hate being teased with a cliffhanger.

Already in season 5.
Last 2 episodes I didn't like so much. Too much political stuff with the 'against the English' to-do beginning.
And sometimes it's also too much that there's always a problem. Even when they're on their way to sort a problem, a few other problems arise as well. These people can never even have a normal night of sleep it seems, or spend 15 mins on the loo without being hassled by another problem popping up.

I wonder how other people feel about it?
