The Wrong Alice

Wed 08/21/19 06:13 PM

I'm struggling to remember, it's been awhile
I bought and began, but didn't get far with Bonfire of the Vanities , Tom Wolfe, I think

I too read, all 3 musketeer books, but in a strange order, the last one first ( which I think I enjoyed the most, I actually cried at 1 part, I won't spoil it, and say why, but laugh all you like)
Then the first 1 ( the only 1 I'd read before, but I was a kid
Then the second 1 last ( which was the worst 1, I thought)
Plus I think most of the count of Monte Cristo, never finished it though for some reason I think
But the last book I read, that I absolutely loved, and have read it at least 3 or 4 times
Is , Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, by, er, hang on, it's on the tip of my tongue, you, know, that guy, what's his name??

In Final Dream, I talked about what the struggles of mankind are that none of us have the right answer of how to live right. And that each of us is part of this bigger piece of life each of us interweaving into each other's life for a purpose and reason.

I began to have my doubts as to whether I was worthy of being recognized and put it off for some time even after finishing it I let it lie on a shelf not typing it up. And when I published it I was given the sensation I had done that with my life... That I had something for many generations to stumble upon and maybe they too can find this reason to leave their footprint on the earth.

In self generalization I realized it has it's flaws but it is to me the story of my life through a fantasy story that people in my life began to unfold into this deeper section of who's been there for me while I struggled with cruel bindings of what I was facing in my life... my own personal demons... that I began to question my own self worth and found my will to better myself putting out what I know.
Where can I read some of this book?

“We all get socialized once by our parents and teachers, ministers and priests. [Reading great books] is about getting a second chance. It’s not about being born again, but about growing up a second time, this time around as your own educator and guide, Virgil to yourself.”

Books: In 1992, I started a notebook with all the books I've read, because I wanted to keep track. I write down the book title and author. Does anyone else do this?
