Due to health problems and allergies to gluten and dairy i can only eat meat, fruit and veggies. I was a fruitarian for several years but my blood work made me have to start back in eating more omega 3 that means more fish. I think peoples eating habbits are personal choice but its not always good for there health. Always get a physical and check with your doctor in whats good for you.

BEEF...........it's what's for dinner.......But all the beef I eat comes from my family ranch so I know the history from birth to processing, what they ate and what they weren't shot up with. This is all range fed beef, no nasty feedlot meat.
I often have a hard time with pork, pigs are disgusting and will eat anything including each other.
I had a good friend back in high school, his dad was a very successful farmer and had grown up on a farm. This guy stuttered very badly; when he was about 9 it was dinner time and his dad was late to come in for dinner. His mother sent him out to find out what was up. His dad's last chore of the day was to feed their hogs, he'd had a heart attack while feeding them and had fallen in their pen. My friends dad discovered his dad being eaten by the hogs and it was such trauma he had the stutter the rest of his life.
Sometimes I'll forget about that but if I'm eating pork and think of it I have to stop.

the animals thank you

LOL, no they don't.

Without predation the balance gets screwed up.
Populations get so far out of whack it starts having a negative effect on the species (humans?).

Just imagine for a sec that humans stopped eating animals.
Cows will still be making more cows and eating.
Pigs will still be making more pigs and eating.
Chickens will still be making more chickens, even more if we are not harvesting their eggs...and eating.

So now you have cows, pigs and chickens disease ridden and starving.
Human consumption keeps their numbers in check.

Now this is total BS. These animals are mostly BRED to have enough for human consumption. If we all stopped eating them we'd simply not breed any more and things go back to how they should naturally be.
Lots of farmers would get in trouble and would have to find something else, but that's another discussion.

As for not eating meat cos you feel sorry... in a way I can follow, but these animals come in for that purpose. Without it they don't have the chance to live.
Like many human souls come in with the purpose to die in a war or disaster etc. animals also come in with a purpose.
Many people still need meat in order to remain healthy as we need certain things that are not in plants.
But as we get further as a species -and we are- more and more won't need meat anymore and will stop doing so at some point.

If you can afford it you can buy bio-bred meat and take the time to thank the animal who gave its life for your meal is always good (that's what praying is actually about).
The rest will sort itself out in due time.

It's that old thing about having to do it yourself. I couldn't kill my chickens either ,
Buying meat from the super market just removes you from the harsh reality.

I don't eat much meat plenty of fish though. and plenty of vegetables.

Fish... ever thought of the results of that? That could very well be worse than eating meat. Overfishing ruining the oceans, accidentally killing animals/fish that get caught in the wrong nets, not leaving enough food for the animals and fish that it is meant for, killing sharks by the thousands to cut of their fin for soup and so on.
Our oceans are in a dire state and mass fishing is part of that.

Personally I think the only thing that would work is eating less and more varied. Like we did in the past. We didn't eat meat or fish daily.

As for meat eating, I stopped eating pork some 5 years ago. It's the worst kind of meat you can eat for your health. I lost a lot of weight then. I actually had to eat more to compensate for losing weight way too fast, haha. Just goes to show how much fat is in it!

I'm like a flippin racing snake already lol. I'll end up like ghandi.
If I cut out everything that was questionable either from a health point of view or an ethical one. there wouldn't be a lot left apart from what I grow myself. Maybe some worm bolagnese or something. And maybe a few snails.

Hahahaha, you eat all you want, Steve! I do too :)
I was just pointing out that some ppl's convictions are a bit unrealistic. Stuff like eating a mega king-size burger all by yourself or a huge steak, T-bone etc are not necessary at all.
If we'd eat less of everything it'd help a lot.
But we can still for sure have a great salmon meal and scoff the whole thing hihi
