In my opinion, none of the motives make sense. Like I said, I dont know what precedent there is to indicate being a victim of a crime causes one's employer to give you a raise.
And when someone gets paid tens of thousands per workday, I dont so much see their being out a job as impactful, its not like they live check to check as the majority of Americans do.
