This should be a hot topic. Looking for passionate but respectful debate about what everyone thinks about Male Circumcision.
Circumcision is the surgical removal of the foreskin, the tissue covering the head of the penis. It is an ancient practice that has its origin in religious rites.
Today however, many parents still have their sons circumcised for religious or in older boys and men to treat phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) or to treat a neglected infection of the penis.
Although there are other debatable Pros and Cons, many Men live perfectly normal lives without any complication without having been circumcised.
I don't personally see a need for it unless a medical emergency arises for such a procedure.

It's more of a religious practice that has become something most people just do in the U.S. I don't think there is any medical benefits to it. It's genital mutilation.

There's been a discussion about this some years ago.
I was shocked to find it is normal in the US and that women were grossed out by the thought of having sex with a normal man with foreskin.
That's the way men were made, the creation is perfect, not flawed.
I did some reading on the matter at the time, and the foreskin has a function, as does the frenulum. It is vital for sexual pleasure and helps to climax which is rather important for survival of the species.
Even if that is not all that necessary anymore at the moment, it's no excuse to circumcise and maim men.

Many men feel upset and maimed and know that they can never enjoy sex the way a whole man can. If they're lucky and the frenulum is left in place, it makes a difference, but this is usually removed too.
Circumcised men get less sensitive as the tender skin of the tip protects itself by forming a thicker skin.
And the entire slide 'mechanism' of an intact penis is vitally important for pleasure & climax. This is taken away from men who've been circumcised.

I personally cannot believe abortion is such an issue in the US while maiming men is normal, expected by women even or they get grossed out.
They come up with it being dirty with foreskin. Really? NO Dutch men is circumcised, and if memory serves, NO English men, Belgian, and so on either.
It's not dirty, you clean it like you keep the rest of your body clean.
It has a function. The human body is the most perfect, most fine-tuned 'machine' in possibly the entire Universe. To mess with that is blasphemy.

Over here it's only done when there's a medical reason, and even then they try the 'sparing' method. I believe this is only taking a bit of foreskin so it can be pulled back, but leaving as much intact, including the so important frenulum.

Yup, then there's female circumcision, almost everyone agrees that is mutilation and it's mostly unaccepted, but it's ok and even expected in some places for men to be circumcised. With males in the U.S. it's usually done within the first few days of birth, so the parents decide and we are not given any say so in the matter.

Oh my, excuse me for not being PC. I know that's the trendy thing for many and there are no more conforming and following than the young and of course if your parents didn't have you cut you're going to defend yourself.
Here's real world experience; I traveled all over the world for most of 30 years starting when I was about 32/33. This includes a total of several months in the UK and on the continent. I've been with many women, and WITHOUT EXCEPTION when the topic came up they've said to me "we wish our men here where circumcised, some of them do wash themselves 2 or 3 times a day but there's still a smell". Face it when you have skin over skin always, what will happen?
And yes you ladies with no practical experience (obviously since you don't have a penis) who just like to parrot what you read somewhere or were told I have no doubt that circumcision does make men less sensitive. Less sensitive equals longer lasting while making love. Which would you prefer? A man who lasts longer or.........I'm sorry baby, maybe next time?
I've NEVER had a woman say to me "I sure wish you weren't cut". Actually the first time I heard the phrase "head cheese" was from some of those same European women.
I'm glad that I was born when I was and where I was and I know from required communal showers after gym class during Jr. high school that ALL of my peers were circumcised, 100%.
One last thing on the health front; I recently read that there's an alarming rise of vaginal infections stemming from a fairly new type of bacteria (to the US) carried in the foreskin of uncircumcised males. Sadly I didn't make note of it as I was reading a publication in my Doctors waiting room.

Yeah, I've never heard of anyone circumcising an animal. If there were actual medical benefits to it, you would think it would be practiced on animals as well.

Female circumscion is a WHOLE differemnt thing...
There are a few different ways, one compleletly eliminaste the main area of sensation down there..basically like removing the head od the penis..

The other ones, while less radical, still do a lot of damage..

http://www.endfgm.eu/female-genital-mutilation/what-is-fgm/

THAT being said....my late husband wadn't circumcised.
No particular reason..yes, he was born in the hospital, I guess his mom said don't do it or something..he told me once, but it wasn't important so i didn't reatin that answer.

He was the first one like that I'd had.

I think if a guy is capablre of cleaning thouroghly, seeing after the nooks and crannies and crevices...it's fine....

If, however, he is really lax on personal hygeine...I could see where there'd be an issue....

Although I agree and have made pretty clear how I think about male circumcision, it is NOT the same as female circumcision, not even close.
Female circumcision means everything is removed, they just leave the vagina untouched so the man can still penetrate and she still can bear him children. Breeding machines.
I guess it might be similar to not only removing a man's foreskin but also the tip of the penis, or in a way maybe even the entire penis. No sexual pleasure from the genitals. That's what they do to women.
Circumcised men can still feel sexual pleasure from their penis although not as well as it's supposed to be and with age it can get worse. Women cannot have any sexual pleasure anymore after a circumcision.

Genital mutilation and circumcision are different, but the same word is used to define both in female, but not males. Kinda like how the word hacking is used to define both the actually practice of hacking and criminal activity which is not hacking.

Yeah NOW! Think of the age of the porn stars. If you looked at porn 30 years ago it would have been the opposite.
See in the US there was a trend, mostly hippie type moms thinking ohhh natural that's got be cool! That's the trend.
As was mentioned above most women here over the age of about 40-45 are grossed out by uncut guys.
For example my friend and weekend guest just left; she's 47 and from Denver, an hour ago I asked her "have you ever been with an uncircumcised guy"?
She said "No", then I asked "have you ever seen one" her response was "only in pictures and it looked gross"! In my experience this is a very typical answer that I've heard most often. Most women in the US older than 40 but younger than 70 have never encountered an uncut guy.
I don't blame you uncut guys for being defensive but can't agree with the "that's the way we were created so it's perfect" school of thought. Just because we're born with something doesn't make it "perfect". Should we all keep our tonsils, appendix, gallbladder, etc? My now 14 y/o daughter was born with some large skin tags on her ears (which oddly enough is usually accompanied with a heart defect, she thankfully didn't have), they looked bad so when she was 2/3 we had them removed. You'd never know it now.
Also as a response to something mentioned above; I know there is a problem that some uncut guys develop that as they age the foreskin gets painfully tight and has to be removed. Haven't researched that and won't need to.
I'm just a retired music guy and not a medical professional and I'm just relating my real world experiences after 62 years on this rock, put whatever spin on it you like.

I don't know how ypou missed it, but, *I* said my late husband was uncircumcised (yes, he was born in a hospital, i think him mom was against it..don't recall)..
First one of those I'd had...or seen...
Wasn't "grossed out"..

I *do* know hygeine needs to be particular if a guy is uncircumcised..and, as a lot of guys are kind of lax in that regard..it's prpobably best that they were circumcised...

And yeah, it has been "goody, goody" for me.
