truth is we shouldn't even be having this discussion simply because they shouldn't be here let alone allowed to drive here..why should people have to wait in line longer for illegals and you will..why should we be spending our tax dollars on services processing licenses for people who are here illegaly..the only taxes we should be spending on illegals is deporting them..and we shouldn't even be doing that simply because ..they shouldn't be here..and people want to give law breakers licenses..what do we get when we break the law..jail..But here's the real kicker..our corrupt government is aiding and abetting them..I say jail them also...

My then wife and I were driving down the street, an illegal ran a stop sign, and plowed into us. He was drunk, had no licence, or insurance. The vehicle plates were for a Chevy, he hit us with a Ford. Had he not made his own vehicle undrivable, I'm sure he would have driven away.

Our insurance co. totaled out our van, even though I drove it home. I took the $2200 that they paid us, and I repaired it.

Get used to the idea, that a drivers licence is nothing more than a formality. How would you stop them from driving? Short of killing them, you won't.

technically, all laws are formalities in that sense. they don't make people behave responsibly, but they are a way to prosecute those when their irresponsible behaviors may harm others.

That is true, the international license simply translates your current license, which must also be presented, into several other languages for foreign travel, to make the information on your current license easier to translate for foreign countries.

I personally do not recognize the UN as any authority.

Their authority only exists in the sense that it aligns countries in common interests, and not participating in the mission of this committee of countries, alienates a country from that commission and those countries in times when they may need some type of assistance or unity from those countries.

We can always go as lone ranger though. There are many who feel born into a uniquely independent country that doesn't need anyone beyond our own borders.

My license expired, I went to renew it with my Birth Certificate and my expired license in hand.
My Birth Certificate was not valid!
WHAT?!
I used that same exact birth certificate to enlist in the United States Armed Forces.
I used that Exact same Birth Certificate to get my initial Driving License in 1977.
That Birth Certificate was issued by the Hospital where I was born and had the doctor's and my parent's signatures on it in actual penned ink. It also had my parents fingerprints and my foot and hand prints in ink.
It was the original document. Date-able to 1961 if anyone NEEDED to verify it's authenticity.
But SUDDENLY, its not good enough.
I had to obtain a certificate of birth from my state with my state's seal on it embossed.
Luckily, It was free because I was a US Service member.

As far as I'm concerned it was a slap in the face.
It belittled my commitment to my nation I pledged by serving in the military and belittled the taxes I have paid while being a legal US citizen.


While I fully understand the why behind the requirement I can't and will not understand the why of how I have to prove I am a US Citizen and an Illegal gets a free pass. The would not renew my license until I produced a state sanctioned birth certificate and YES, I tried showing them my ORIGINAL DD-214 (Still not good enough).

If you are in this country illegally, you have NONE of MY RIGHTS.
It disrespects every single life that has been given by brave US Citizens to have those rights.
