There is a significant difference between the personal qualities of the President and the policies of his administration. I personally don't care about what qualities he does or does not possess only about the policies he supports and where he wants the country to go. Give me a different candidate who supports the same policies as Trump and I would consider voting for him; give me a candidate who would significantly change policies and where we are headed as a country and I will vote against them every time!! POLICY MATTERS, PERSONALITY DOES NOT!!!!
I slightly disagree here. Although there is difference between personal qualities of an individual in some positions and the policies of their administration, or colleagues, or support system, et cetera. IN some positions, like POTUS for example, personal qualities matter when they are a part of personal interaction necessary for the job. In some positions, like POTUS, part of professionalism is having certain personal qualities in the job.
A Potus is not a dictator, but they ARE a representative to the WORLD and a 'leader' example for AMericans they represent, including children looking up to them as POTUS. It is not a dictator job, but it is one in which mannerism and behavior count, not nearly as MUCH as other qualifications, but they do matter.
As far as knowing what a POTUS supports, it has to go beyond lip service into solid history showing such support and a KNOWLEDGE of how to implement such support in their position. A man can say all day long he supports fidelity, for example, but if they get married and constantly cheat, or have no idea how to be faithful, that support means very little. If they have a history of infidelity, that support means very little. I can go into a broken company and say I support turning it around, but I'm not fit for the job if I have no idea how to be a part of doing that.
I think candidates need the pudding(proof) and not just the words regarding 'support'. Wanting something to be done, and knowing how to do it are different things. I think candidates need to know how to get things done, and not just give words of 'support'.
