This topic could fit in a few places, but thought I'd try it here. What do people think about letting their hair on their head go completely gray, as they get older?

Hummm well I'm 60 and not ready to go the totally gray.. If I did not color my hair it would be full salt and pepper with a whole lot of salt lmao... noway

I have been coloring my hair for over 30 years started getting gray at 16.. By the time I was in my 30's I had a whole lot of gray..

I should have invested in Hair Dye in the stock market lmao..

I'll keep coloring for a while~~

I know some women who have let their hair go gray but it really does make them look older.

I’m not going down without a fight. I won’t let mine go gray for as long as I have the energy to go to my hairdresser.

I'd think, not assume, more women would like to color hair when seeing gray.

I color my hair. All my three sisters do too.

That may be true Cat but lately gray is in for many.. I know some that have colored their hair gray... And others that have let the gray grow out... and it looks good on them..

For many it does make them look older.. I've thought about having mine back frosted instead but not ready for the full on gray~~

I'm like Txsgal. I had some gray when I was 16. I have light brown hair, so it didn't show a lot. I first colored my hair in my late 20's.

I dye mine back to it's natural color. I've let it go gray for a bit but it's not so much gray as it is white and I'm not ready for that.

I was in my local natural food store, which I hadn't been in for a while and the owner said, "did you stop coloring your hair? It's so shiny." I got flustered.

I am not against coloring hair but I would never do it. I am going for the Richard Gere look, all gray. Right now I have Glonde hair, that's Gray and Blonde. laugh

I think most men don't think about getting gray hair.

Let mine go 'natural' about 5 years ago....like the no fuss of it. No frequent dye dates.

Something I absolutely don't understand from a male standpoint. Just the other day I was in Walmart walking behind what I thought was an old granny. When she turned around and I realized it was a 17 to maybe 21-year-old girl, I just shook my head in disbelief. Why any woman would do that to herself is beyond me. We all get old fast enough. Why make yourself look 80 years old? I thought most women wanted to look young as long as possible.

I don't think that many men understand how a lot of women feel about their hair.

Cat...

From my man's perspective, and if I were you, I would hold off for maybe another 5 years. Based on your picture, I think you look great as you are now.

But in another 5 years, I would consider letting the gray gradually fade in. Then in about 10 years from now, I suspect you would look quite good with all gray hair.

But, that's just my take on it.

Personally, I need to add a newer photo of myself. I have a fair amount of grey on the sides now. It's also in my beard much more than when I took my current profile pic.

Everything now and then, I've considered coloring my hair just because people say I have a young face. I've never actually done it though. I still get looks from women from age 20 and up. Just a month ago, one of my close friends notice a younger librarian ogling me as I walked past obliviously. So....I guess the grey works for me.

I'll go gray. I know that. I'm thinking when I should do that.
