Lets see;
Models, matchbox, hot wheels, action figures, dolls, dioramas, stamps, coins, crystals, coffee table movie books, comic books, graphic novels, trains sets, slot cars, remote controlled vehicles (not counting drones), polished rocks, pet rock, trolls...

Anything that you used to collect and still have or still collect actively.
Things like stamps and coins, the ones you aquired in your youth and still have.

Yeah, I wish. When I was a kid I used to collect a lot of Charlie Brown and Snoopy. I had a lot of matchbox cars from the 70's. I have no idea what happened to to that.

I always find it difficult to throw things away, so yes.

I still have the stamps I collected as a kid, some coins as well. I have some special edition silver coins, and somewhere a couple of small silver animals.

Comic books, Suske and Wiske, which were semi-hardcover comic books, Belgian origin. Not sure if you had something like that in America with semi-hardcovers?
Must have at least a hundred, but I stopped collecting the newer ones as I didn't like them.

And one of the first ever Donald Duck comic magazines from 1954.

The few Barbie dolls I had (none of which are Barbie).

Suske en Wiske? I have one of them, they are great. Suske standing there with brokkoli in his ears, saying 'praat er maar, ik luister toch niet' :joy:

Anyway, I have some toys and books left from my childhood. But my Dad beats me with ease, he kept all his books as well

Haha, do you have it in Dutch then? I know they've been translated in lord knows how many languages.
But nice that you know them! Sometimes you need another European to share memories, hihi.
I SO loved the humour in Suske & Wiske! I read them a gazillion times.

I too still have books from childhood. Enid Blyton's The Five.
I LOVED those!!! Cannot remember how many times I read them!

I even have a very old Florence Nightingale and a King Arthur novel that were my mom's when she was 14. She's now 76, so the books are 62 years old!
I loved the stories myself. Nuts about Avalon & Arthur, except for the high level of Christianity in that old novel, haha.

And Florence NIghtingale, has been my idol in life for years on end love

I don't know if I have anything that I actually came into possession of while I was a child, but I did go back and build a collection of Classics Illustrated books.

Can't say I really ever collected anything growing up. Due to we moved so much and was only allowed to grab what we could... that would fit in a suitcase. Even our childhood pictures were destroyed by our first stepmom.

And due to that it could be the reason I have keep so much stuff from when my kids were little..

Just found the box of baseball cards in the shed my son collected 30 years ago.. Still have the Mickey Mouse stand up phone my daughter had..

Actually just pulled down out of the shed the big Barbie Dream House my daughter had around the age of 4-5 in Dec of 2017 she is 34 now. Have all the furniture and accessories with it and a box of Barbie/Ken dolls with clothes ect...So now my grand kids are getting to enjoy the same toys that my kids did...

Funny how through the years they keep telling me I need to get rid of all the stuff in the shed. But now they are overjoyed to see things brought back in the house that they had and played with and now their kids are playing with the same items.. Of course grand kids know for I tell them who's toys they were ect..

One of my grandson's favorite thing is to go explore in Granny's shed, he says he is treasure hunting... laugh laugh There is a story behind each item he finds... Brings back a lot of good memories.....

Cool!
I wonder if you find our language difficult?
It never ceases to amaze me that foreigners think and say that for us Dutchies it is easy to learn German as it is so similar to our own language. Me always thinking -and saying-, Are you nuts? Haha.
German and Dutch are very different. I could never master German. I tried, gave up, lol. So wondering if it's the same for Germans trying to speak/learn Dutch?

Maybe, it is a bit easier for me to learn Dutch, because I am good in foreign languages? But when I speak Dutch, it is some crude Antwerp dialect, which only people from Antwerp understand laugh

Right, hihi. Belgian can be tricky to understand. Sometimes they use entirely different words and expressions for things, and then of course the accent.

Sure, I did hot wheels. I still have them, much to the dismay of my useless sister, who wanted them for her son. I'm glad I didn't give them to her. Back after my mother died, my dad gave me mom's engagement ring. I, in turn gave it to my niece. My idiot sister sold that ring, and pocketed the money.

I also hung onto a pair of Hodaka Motorcycles, bought new by me. People told me I was nuts to buy them. They cost me $950, new, for the pair. Now they're worth $2500-each.

I miss my Hot Wheel and Matchbox cars!
I had a lot of comic books and wow, my mom threw them away!
From my childhood - nothing.
I still have the gifts I have received from my children that are collectibles.
All still in their original packaging.
While not from MY childhood, when my Grandchildren get them they should be worth something?
