I'm starting another thread based on who is running. It doesn't matter if it's Democrat or Republican. As I find things about each candidate it will be posted here. In no particular order. With the exception of one person, Trump. Trump "doings" will stay in the "Trumpland" thread.

Beto O'Rourke unveils climate plan with Yosemite as the backdrop

"YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke has announced his first major policy initiative, a $5 trillion plan to combat climate change that he says will keep the Earth from sliding past the point of no return in less than a generation".

The Media Can’t Figure Out How to Cover Elizabeth Warren

"Unlike every other candidate in the race—or in recent US history—Warren is providing a road map for where she wants to take the country".

"Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is running a presidential campaign unlike any we’ve seen before, and our media have no idea how to handle it. It’s a campaign not merely of ideas but of detailed policy proposals dealing with a host of ills that other politicians have ignored or tried to wish away".

Elizabeth Warren bets that slew of policy ideas will win over Trump-weary voters

"The government would pay to build more than 3 million homes and apartments, nearly eliminating a housing shortage for the poor. Uncle Sam would manufacture insulin if critical medicine’s price spikes. The federal government would foot the bill for childcare for many. And big companies, from technology to agriculture, would be broken up".

Elizabeth Warren, Trumpian of the Left

"For decades, the left sought to dethrone the idea of truth. The truth was not absolute. It was a matter of power. Of perspective. Of narrative. “Truth is a thing of this world,” wrote Michel Foucault. “Each society has its regime of truth, its ‘general politics’ of truth: that is, the types of discourse which it accepts and makes function as true".

Beto O’Rourke switches his style and tone as the spotlight dims

"As Beto O’Rourke prepared last month to tell the world that he would run for president, Vanity Fair unveiled its April cover featuring the Democrat from El Paso on a dusty road with his pickup truck, his dog and these words: “Man, I’m just born to be in it".

'My top 3 changes every day': San Francisco voters turn out to hear Beto O'Rourke's 2020 pitch

"SAN FRANCISCO – Though the line of people snaking outside the Irish Cultural Center late Sunday morning kept growing, few “Beto 2020’’ shirts could be spotted in the crowd.

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke was making his first appearance in famously liberal San Francisco since launching his campaign last month, but the folks coming out to hear him speak were not yet ready for a lovefest".

Joe Biden Touts Middle Class, Unions in First Campaign Rally

"FORMER VICE PRESIDENT Joe Biden, who's considered a 2020 front-runner, touted restoring America's middle class and strengthening unions Monday in his first campaign rally as a Democratic presidential candidate.

"The Democratic 2020 primary is a crowded field, but regardless of who takes the nomination, President Donald Trump will face a battle before election day. Bernie Sanders Has a Message for Trump on Trade

As workers’ rights have become a focus for the 2020 presidential campaigns, Senator Bernie Sanders has called on President Donald Trump to protect those rights in the deal to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), but whether that can happen and if it will be a boon for agricultural and auto workers in the U.S. remains to be seen.

As Biden lead widens, firefighters union will do 'everything it takes' to help him win

"PITTSBURGH — You didn’t need to look hard to find the union label on the first event of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign. The rally took place in a Teamsters Temple in this industrial town on Monday and the small hall was packed with representatives from a slew of labor groups. But one union stood out behind Biden, with dozens of their members surrounding the former vice president in their trademark black-and-gold shirts".

Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg see both good and bad news in latest Quinnipiac Poll

"WASHINGTON – A new presidential poll has both good and bad news for Democratic hopefuls Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg.

A majority of Democratic voters surveyed by Quinnipiac University days after Biden launched his campaign last week said the former vice president has the best chance of beating President Donald Trump. But while Biden has homed in on Trump in his nascent campaign, 70% of Democrats said they want a candidate who focuses on other issues.

For Buttigieg, the good news in the survey released Tuesday is that 70% of all voters – including 46% of Republicans – said they are open to electing a president who is a gay man".

Biden is right about Trump. Democrats should listen.

"Presidential campaign announcements are generally vapid affairs, full of marshmallowy rhetoric about coming together and securing America’s future and other things that won’t offend anyone.

So it was notable when Joe Biden’s announcement video, released just after I posted this column about him last week, touched off a raw argument among a certain segment of Democrats. Here’s the one line from Biden’s spiel, in particular, that infuriated some progressives:

“I believe history will look back on four years of this president and all he embraces as an aberrant moment in time".

WRONG!! Trump is doing his best to take this country in a positive direction where all are treated equally and have an equal chance at success. Where no one is given special treatment or status in life. A place where everyone world wide gets the same chance to make something of themselves and success is rewarded while failure is punished. A place where the cost of regulation carries a significant part of the regulation basis.

whats to be furious about really?

aberrant: departing from an accepted standard

and isnt that one of the reasons so many claim to have voted for him, because he was NOT like the accepted standard? The standard of diplomacy, that was rebranded as weakness, the standard of manners that was rebranded as PC, the standard of educated speech, which was just discarded as not significant after all?

Id think true supporters would be applauding this observation. Maybe the history books can even record this period as the Aberrant Age?
