Love and sex are NOT the same thing
Maybe that's why there are two different words?
Love is an emotion or a feeling.
Sort of.
If you prick your foot with a pin, you get "an" pain reaction.
One trigger, one feeling.
But, different people can feel that pain to different degrees based on their biology and social training (experience).
Also, people can then react to that pain in different ways (punch a wall, scream obscenities, go quiet and hiss through their mouth, lash out at others, let it smolder then eat 4 chocolate bars, go through their house and throw away all sharp objects then petition the government to regulate all sharp objects for everyone, etc.).
Love isn't "just" an (one) emotion or a (single) feeling.
It's the culmination of a process that associates different degrees and tolerances of emotional and feeling association with different triggers and experiences and subsequent behaviors.
That's why:
There is no one definition of love because the word “love” can mean many different things ...
It's a subjective process with a lot of overlap between individuals.
Overlap because there are a finite amount of actual emotions and feelings, but nearly infinite levels or degrees and reactions.
Especially over time as new experience and knowledge lead to experiencing greater depth to what used to be considered simplistic.
Overlap which can ultimately lead to "one definition" if people share a common culture where they can explore the differences and similarities as they aren't really changing and share a common language.
Other than that:
Love and sex are NOT the same thing
That doesn't mean sex doesn't play any part in the development or defining of "love" or that it should be discarded as unimportant.
