I was talking to this this guy about 18 years ago, in person, not on this site and he was trying to get a bride from Philippines (sorry if I spelled it wrong). She was coming from a city and he was living almost off grid. I think she wanted to move to USA. I hope she knew what she was getting into.
For the uneducated, backward men who want a submissive overseas bride,I remember on a segment of Judge Joe Brown, he said that within two years, the foreign brides are totally Americanized anyway.
So they will be slurping frappuccinos, eat junk food and bacon, but it doesn't mean she won't be submissive anymore.
At least in more southern states of the US women aren't highly regarded. My daughter found that one out the hard way several times, infuriating her as we don't have that kind of chit over here anymore.
I noticed the same thing on here many times, the things US men say about women, so I think Americanized means women are still quite inferior. Maybe it's different in NY and the like.
