Pop was born in 1912, died in 1984.
He would be 107 years old right now.
I still remember him but not as a dead man in a casket.
My Pop is alive in me and will be till I die myself.

If ya still have yer Pop and he is alive and kicking, give him a visit.
If he can't remember it because of memory issues, you still need to connect with him.
If not for him, for you.

If he is lucid, what a great chance to ask the questions you need answered.
Sometimes its worth a repeat just to experience his telling of the story.

Try to realize he is more than your Pop.
He is a man and has a story to tell before he was a Pop.
Let him express what is important to him.
Oh, tell Pop ya love him, how can it hurt?

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

My Dad worked the night shift for a really long time. He came home around midnight. I stayed up sometimes, even though I wasn't supposed to.

My father is living with my sister, not near me, and I gave him a call at the perfect time. He was in the house watching a baseball game (his favorite team) and golf, at the same time on tv. He has a cold and didn't go to the movies with my sis and her husband, but they are doing a BBQ later. My father is doing great for 95!

As a child, I had a few operations where I couldn't walk and bedridden. My Dad carried me outside so I could get fresh air.
