I used to go to shows quite a bit back when Jerry Garcia was alive.
I saw a few after his passing, and was blessed to have the opportunity to make it to all 3 of the 50th anniversary shows.
Then John Mayer of all people stepped in.
Now, JM can play at a level I was unaware of before my 1st Dead & Company show, however even though his voice has improved, it's still hard to watch D&C play songs that Jerry sang Soo Much Better.
