Seems like a life wasted, just for nothing.

Irish woman, jailed for racist rant at Air India cabin crew, found dead after leaving prison

Fifty-year old Simone Burns, who was described as "drunk and obnoxious" during her hearing, was sentenced to six months in April. She yelled at the Air India crew after she was refused alcohol on a flight from Mumbai to London.

questions that flare up:

1. Seems she was unaware she was being filmed.

2. Why did the crew refuse her the 4th or 5th drink? Would have quietened her down?
Black listed her from flying later
Would she be refused in any Western airlines?

3. Why was she sentenced for 6 months? It was not like she was endangering the lives of fellow passengers.
Who has not drunk and 'misbehaved' among us?
6 days would've been enough plus a heavier fine.

Or is the Judge a misogynist, suffering from some 'political correctness' syndrome?

4. Why the heck did she not apologize later and forget about it.

Air India is 4 billion dollars in red; running on government funds.
the fools cannot afford coconut water!

1. Seems she was unaware she was being filmed.

So?
Are you trying to imply if she was aware there would be witnesses to her behavior she wouldn't have acted drunk and disorderly in public?

2. Why did the crew refuse her the 4th or 5th drink? Would have quietened her down?

Or made her more belligerent and possibly dangerous.
Or killed her from alcohol poisoning, especially if they couldn't then refuse her 7th, 10th, 25th.

Would she be refused in any Western airlines?

If "Western airlines" banned her then yes.
Is that a company?
Or do you mean any airline company in the "western" world?
She might have been "blacklisted" as a security threat.

3. Why was she sentenced for 6 months?

Possibly because that was the law and the mandatory sentence.
Government is a bureaucracy. It's like one of those wooden marble machines where you put a marble at the top and gravity pulls it down the chute, which spins a wheel, then lowers the elevator, and the marble falls to the next level, and it follows the track, spinning wheels and tripping levers, and so forth until the marble falls out the bottom.
The "marble" loses all control over its movement and life once it enters that "system." Once "x" starts then "y" has to happen.
Otherwise it's an "unjust" system playing favoritism.

Once she's "charged" with a crime, they have to "prove" the crime. If the crime is "proven," then she "has" to fulfill the associated punishment to that charge/crime.

Who has not drunk and 'misbehaved' among us?

Lots of people. Especially not in public.
I know I've never "misbehaved" after drinking.

6 days would've been enough plus a heavier fine.

Become a politician and/or judge and you can help determine that by changing/enforcing the law that way.

is the Judge a misogynist, suffering from some 'political correctness' syndrome?

Maybe. But that doesn't mean they have absolute impunity to set law from their bench. They may be the biggest woman or anti drunk in the world.
It wouldn't matter if they simply followed the letter of the law.

4. Why the heck did she not apologize later and forget about it.

For all I know she did, it was just never reported.

Point was (on hindsight): Whatever happened to 'pound of flesh but not a drop of blood'? Meaning, heavier fine versus months in penitentiary

Chilling to read.

Well, as you know, courts in India do accept precedents from other countries; and we can suppose that the courts and airlines are having second thoughts.

After all it was the Airlines who served not 1 but 3 drinks!!! as part of their effort to boost sales. In other words, it is the Airlines that set the marble rolling ...
