let me ask a ? lets say your famous and rich and got multi endorsments from big companies like Ernie Ball , gibson fender or whoever. you get all the gear and supplies for free. But the person that didnt want to be famous or get endorsed by anyone for certain reasons but love to play and take car of his gear is it fair that the not famous guy pay like way more for lets say a pack of giitar strings they went up five dollars and he cant afford those strings but the famous guy makes a commericial and gets paid with money amd gear for free now why is not famouspaying for famous stuff he can afford millions of strings is this right

Yeah, pretty fair and pretty logical.
You may feel personally aggrieved, doesn't change that.
Like Bastet says, the famous guys gets seen by many and thus automatically advertises the equipment.
You don't. So you're not interesting for them.

A company also needs to make money, that's called economy.
It employs people who get a salary out of sales, including the strings you buy.

The successful person didn't get there either by victimizing himself. He got there by hard work and having a positive mindset.

End of story.

OP, I own a 45 y/o Fender acoustic, an Anniversary Ovation made in '77, a year old Ibanez (Les Paul type) and a unknown age and brand folk guitar that I bought for $17 at an auction. I had to make a new bridge and nut for it but it's for my daughter (nylon strings).
I can restring all four for about $30. I get your point but.......
This might be an idea for you; I bought several sets of strings at a local pawn shop. People pawn guitars all the time along with whatever supplies they have with them. The pawn shop guy was tired of them sitting on his shelf and I got them cheap.

I've an old eko dreadnought 12 string. built in the 60s and a staag semi acoustic. I haven't changed the strings in 20 years. Maybe they could use a change thinking about it. Though I don't expect my old cloth ears will be able to tell much difference. OP how often do you change your strings exactly?
