Not much will be left of the Bahamas once Dorian passes :cry:

hopefully it will turn north soon and give them a break :angel:

We're feeling the outer band down here, 200 miles away, that's how huge this storm is. The Keys still appear to be safer than the rest of Florida. I'm still having wifi issues but am able to keep track of it watching the weather channel, thankfully.

The biggest concerns down here is that another system will have time to move in with Dorian going so slow and change the direction.

They are saying this may permanently change the Bahamas, that some of the smaller islands are completely submerged and may never resurface.

I will, it's just nerve racking waiting and not being able to get online to take my mind off it. Then I feel horribly selfish worrying about something so minor when there are others who have much more to be concerned with.

Occupancy is way down today, maybe I can go hang out at the pool. It would be a good day for that, tomorrow's weather is iffy. Least then I can have a better connection and see if the IT's are working on the problem.

We all need our distractions right now... the good thing about it moving so slow is it's giving people more time to prepare and leave. Still another hour till the next update.

But I do have full bars now for internet happy

My boss called a few minutes ago to see if I wanted to work in another department, I had a total meltdown sad

Took a shower and feel better. I guess being an empath isn't a good thing right now, lol. But then again, it's a good time to do energy work to help the craziness everyone is feeling.

I told my boss no, that I wanted to lounge at the pool bigsmile

But now it's pouring rain slaphead

Karma at it's best grumble

It won't last long, the bands are still pretty scattered right now, so hopefully I can go play in the pool after lunch.

Newest update... Dorian weakened to a cat 4, 155 mph winds, still moving at one mile an hour. They are still anticipating it following the same track and still waiting for it to turn north.

Yes, so long as the weather patterns don't shift the Keys will at most get tropical storm conditions from the outer bands. Those will be scattered where as for the mainlanders it will be more constant ranging from a tropical storm conditions to hurricane conditions.

Oh our area it's 24/7
5am,11am, 6pm and 11pm are the times when they have sent planes out to the hurricane, they collect new data, and the national weather gives the new track, speeds, etc.
So I wait for those times to get the latest info
