They are already setting up donation sites in the Keys, Crystal, and the Red Cross is on board with helping.
It will take quite a while to rebuild, much like the Keys when Irma hit, only worse with how long it stayed there. Back then the feeling "how will we ever rebuild" was very prominent in a lot of minds. It was unbelievable the amount of devastation, especially in the Middle Keys where I am now. I remember driving through the Keys and seeing all the debris piled high along the highway. Homes, boats, trees, and buildings being wiped out/gone and some laying in the highway.
It will be a lot worse for those in the Bahamas... If they are anything like the people here in the Keys, they are definitely resilient people. They'll start with one piece at a time and go from there. It was amazing to see the entire community here working to rebuild two years ago... I'm sure it will be the same there.
