Very well put, ok46. Mr diesel (original poster), however, does not particularly care whether he is understood. What is important to him is not to enlighten, but to remind himself frequently of his alleged intellectual superiority to the rest of us. He is basically correct in his analysis, but intentionally obfuscates with florid prose and strange syntax. He appears to be a hyper-individualist, way beyond libertarian, essentially a modern, third-rate Ayn Rand.

It's common illogical conclusions.

Is it?
The difference between reality and delusion is reality persists while delusion is subject to change by relativity.

yes exactly. objective reality is not changed by what a person believes, while subjective reality only exists in the mind of an individual and dies with them. but the imagined order is a shared delusion and is intersubjective. it continues on for as long as there are minds for it to live in as reality.

these many layers of the zeitgeist I refer to as configuration

subjective reality only exists in the mind of an individual and dies with them

Not necessarily.
Most of human society is self-perpetuating subjective reality.
Some subjective realities can and do affect/change actual reality.

For instance, the concept of wealth and power.
Wealth and/or power can change reality.
Both are subjective reality (delusion).
The human body does not need wealth or power to survive.
They give the body a better chance at survival but are not a requirement.
They change reality in favor of survival.

the imagined order is a shared delusion and is intersubjective

The shared delusion is only inter subjective to a certain degree and that subjectivity is limited by relativity of the society with the delusion over time.
So, what may be a shared delusion for one generation may not be the same shared delusion for a future generation. It may have similarities but it may not.
Religion attempts to maintain a shared delusion over multiple generations.
It can't so it changes with the changing perceptions of each new generation.
It morphs while maintaining the essence of the original delusion.

On the personal level, we have subjective reality in our personal lives.
The delusion morphs with each person we interact with. We abandon some delusions while we adopt new ones.
When we find our 'match' it is most often the one that shares most of our subjective realities. In other words, we share similar delusions.

Delusion is not always bad.
Delusion is only bad when it gets in the way of reality.
If the delusion compliments reality, it can be beneficial to survival.

We are organisms.
The basic reality of an organism is to continue to survive.
Some delusions hamper survival and some allow us to thrive.
As a species, at nearly 8 billion strong, we seem to be thriving.

Well said Tom. My only pushback is that chickens would be successful by that standard. There's like 4 chickens to every person but their life sucks

Its all relative. It might 'suck' by our standards but from a chicken's who knows, they might be livin the good life?
Perhaps if someone eventually successfully interviews a chicken we will know for sure but till then its anybody's guess.

Is this like ingsoc doublethink from George Orwell's 1984?
Have you read the bit at the end? The appendix or whatever it's called
We have ways of making you mad / talk

One step beyond was covered by Madness
It is of course Prince Buster
Madness are named after his song called madness
He pretty much pioneered / invented ska and blue beat

Madness, madness, they call it madness
Madness, madness, they call it madness
It's plain to see, that is what they mean to me
Madness, madness I call it gladness
Madness, madness, they call it madness
But if this is madness
Man, I know I'm filled with gladness
It's gonna be rougher, rough, it's gonna be tougher, tough
And I won't be the one oh, no, no who's gonna suffer
Propaganda ministers
Propaganda ministers
I've got a aim in view
Man, I'm gonna walk all over you
'Cause madness, madness they call it madness
But if this is madness
Man, I know I'm filled with gladness
It's gonna be rougher, rough, it's gonna be tougher, tough
And I won't be the one oh, no, no who's gonna suffer
People you'll see the one who's gonna suffer
And I'll never, never, never be that one who's gonna suffer

:point_up_2: Madness, song by, Prince Buster
