How do black holes figure in the supposed "Speed of dark"?

Darkness isn't an active thing, just the absence of light.

Black Holes are neither 'black' nor a 'hole'.

I gather your partner is visiting you. I was hoping for an on depth explanation Tom. You explain science in a way I understand

I agree with you there.

Yes and we had a wonderful extended weekend...thanx.

I have previously gone into depth on the Black Hole 'Placeholder'.
Much like Dark Matter and Dark Energy are placeholders.
Descriptive for lack of a better term.

A simple understanding of physics is needed to understand why I call them White Singularities. For simplicity, I will refer to them as Black Holes (WS).

First, it is important to realize there are more Event Horizons than just the light horizon.
The Milky Way galaxy is a spiral galaxy around a supermassive black hole(WS) named Sagittarius A.
The Sun (Sol) and the Earth are currently caught in an event horizon of Sagittarius A. We are slowly spiraling onto it.
As matter gets closer to Sagittarius A it heats up because it is moving increasingly faster. This is why graphical representation of our galaxy shows the center of the galaxy as whiter and hotter. The faster matter moves, the hotter it gets. On the opposite, the slower matter moves the colder it gets till it reaches no movement at all at Absolute Zero (AZ).

Gravity in space is spherical. Many representations explaining gravity show a sheet of spacetime and matter deforming that sheet like balls on a blanket.
The heavier the matter the more the blanket deforms. What these graphics can't show it the fact the distortion of spacetime is spherical. A bowling ball on a blanket but for every plane in all directions.

Then we have to look at why the lunar systems, solar system and galaxy have a spiral shape.
Consider that Sagittarius A is the most massive matter in the galaxy.
Consider at one time, the other matter in the galaxy was spread out fairly evenly and when Sagittarius A formed, it started pulling the matter around it towards itself. Some matter moved faster than other matter and as it slowly made its way to Sagittarius A it started a spiraling movement.
A spiraling movement which is transferred to all matter within its influence.
As this happened, the galaxy flattened into a spiraling disk.

If you were to shoot a planet at the Sun it would fall onto the Sun. Its mass would be absorbed by the gravitational pull of the Sun and the Sun would become that much more massive.
Sagittarius A probably started out as a super massive star.
At some point, it reached a mass so great even light could not escape its gravity. It becomes a black hole (ws).
Since there was more mass within its gravitational horizon, it continues to pull more mass onto itself, absorbing that mass, becoming that much more massive. It grows to super-massive size and continues to grow. As long as there is more mass to absorb, it gets more massive. As it gets more massive it gathers more mass faster.

That mass is moving very fast and the now super massive star is hotter and hotter. So hot it is white hot (its possible there is a point where white is not the hottest but for understanding lets just assume white hot is the hottest.
We can't see it is white hot because the gravity is so great, even light can't escape. Nothing contacts our detectors. Lack of data is blank or 'black'.
This is why I call it White.

Considering the bowling ball blanket understanding of gravity wells to mass some think when a black hole occurs it rips a hole thru the blanket to somewhere else.
This would be wonderful fantasy except as soon as that happened the super-mass would no longer be in our reality and there would not be any type of event horizon.
So, the mass must be there.
If the mass is there, all the mass being pulled in will fall onto that mass, increasing its mass by that much.
The fact mass is pulled onto the singularity at different rates on a gravitational plane results in the singularity spinning. At its two poles, where there is less mass being drawn the gravitational effects are lower than that at its equator.
This is why we can detect jets of material being ejected at the poles.
I think it is gamma energy jets er something. Super-hot high energy jets.

For reference, look up neutron stars, Sagittarius A and check youtube for star size comparisons. Plus it is important to note that spiral galaxies are common but not the only type of galactic formation.

Event horizons, horizons meaning plural.
Joe Q Public know about the light event horizon but there are other event horizons too. Consider the fact the Milky Way galaxy is an event horizon of Sagittarius A but also the fact the milky Way has other smaller galaxies caught it its event horizon.

Put a bowling ball in the center of a trampoline and roll a cue ball, a tennis ball, a baseball and a marble around the outer edge and see what happens.
