I arrived back in Washington Friday the 10th after being across the country for the last 7-8 years. My daughter who is nearly 2 was taken from me and I am now going through a custody battle with a woman who has done this to two other men, with three other children. Is there any advice out there for anything I could do to help my chances of securing sole custody? I have never been away from my daughter for more than 12 hours before now. Sorry I’m posting this on a ‘dating/mingle’ chat. Don’t remember anybody up here and sometimes it just helps to vent a bit.

The advice...

Consult with an attorney.

My downside is her family being friends with everybody down in that small town, the chief of police, the judge, the mayor, etc

see if you can get a case moved out of town to get a fair hearing/trial.

That is also the law. you may have to talk with state or national services if the town or state is paid off.... or the news channel? they like going after possible repeat offenders. they will look into it possibly more than anyone else.

Consult with an attorney.

Or vent on a social network site.

See which one gets you the results you are looking for.

So?

It's a custody battle.
HIRE AN ATTORNEY TO REPRESENT YOU.

HIRE AN ATTORNEY
And come up with a better story to sell.
You've not been away from her for more than 12 hours, yet you were cross country for the last 7-8 years? And you were never with her to begin with.
Why not want to be with her sooner?

But again, get an attorney.
And keep the best interest of the little one at heart, not your ego.

HIRE AN ATTORNEY!!!

Also concentrate on making yourself a 'fit' parent.
Repair damaged past where you can or create a new focus which shows your current state of affairs.

Realize any domestic abuse in your history will require significant changes in your lifestyle to rectify.

Document everything, keep records, record conversations, file motions on time and follow thru with everything.

It doesn't matter how many children and how many fathers are involved, if the woman provides a safe, stable, nurturing environment, its going to take a lot to convince a court you are the better choice to be the parent.
You gotta have all yer ducks in a row.

Think about...
Pediatrician/medical plan
Sitter/preschool/nanny
Clean, safe home
Food prep/food supply/clothing/hygene/activities
Car seat/child-safe toys/sleeping arrangements

The people you let into you life, are they positive or negative to your child's capacity.
Children learn from the people around them. If you have shady people in your home, it may not be the best for your child.

Most important, do you have emotional control and able to think rationally?
If you fly off the handle at the simple things in life, no court is going to give you custody of a child. Ya gotta be stable.

Finally, examine all the reasons you can't see your child now.
Be brutally honest, it takes two to ruin a relationship so don't forget to look in the mirror.

Good luck!

Then try and get a out of town attorney...
tell them the situation and Maybe they can help ...

just a thought ... if u can afford it ... other wise u might just try for
partial ... just to see your child ... not even sure if u are paying for them or how old are they ...
