In the meantime I got a lot more work done. Still not finished though.

The castles and landscape are much lighter, but if I get that photographed the way it is the arch washes out.
The weirdest thing.

But since I want to show the arch, I tried to get that as close to how it is in real life. Also not easy. When it looks great on my phone it is bland on my monitor.

In any case, this is what I've done so far:

I'm done with the top part now.
It got quite dark, I was in two minds about it at first when I finished last night. But now I do think it actually has a certain charm.
It is not as dark as in the photo but cannot get it right. If I make it lighter the lower parts wash out :/

Now I can get on with the landscape itself. Do the last fixes and tweaks of that :)

Back to acrylics, which takes getting used to again.

I'm doing a seascape, started out in another way of painting only to find out it's not really my way of going bout it.
Nevertheless I do feel it's coming along nicely!

I've done more work. It's as good as done. I'll go over it to maybe do some finishing touches.

The colour of the light part of the wave has not been altered. Any difference is due to light at time of taking the photo.

I used different brushwork for most of this painting. Kind of an experiment.
At first I got frustrated because of it, felt it didn't work for me, yet in the end the parts where I did that worked out really well!

I started a new painting a couple of days ago.
After the first session I felt like it wasn't gonna go anywhere and I considered Gesso-ing over it.
But I gave it another try and suddenly I felt it coming along :)

Lots of work left to be done of course. Third session today and it's beginning to get some "body" now.

It's looking good...! I cannot wait to see the finished piece, but I love seeing the process too.

My latest painting, not entirely finished but close to...

I started a new painting a couple of days ago, based on the beautiful roses and daisies that are flowering in my garden.

This is the first session, trying to paint in yet a different style than I've ever done before. I was in doubt when done with this, I'm not really a flower painter either, but seeing it the next morning I felt I could really work with this!





Second session I had this:





Right now, after the 4th session, I got this and I'm really happy with it. I will add a few more things, then I will call it a finished painting :)
