My beloved Uluru, Australia, which I also painted from this photo within the ranger station area where I worked during the day (my photo).
Dinka girls, one you really have to see at a distance. Painted in 1986 when in Australia, living at Uluru, with very little supplies. A wee bit of paint, I think 1 brush and scrap paper.
I found the photo of these girls in a magazine, and funny enough I came across it again decades later, I think 2-3 yrs ago.
Aboriginal man, from a postcard, drawn in 1986 when living at Uluru, Australia. Again, only scrap paper and 1 pencil with the tiniest crumbs of eraser left on its end, which is not the easiest in the world for a portrait...
Apparently I had captured him so well that when I had it hanging up it shocked visiting Aboriginals. The man had passed away, but I didn't know that. I respectfully took it down.
