Where are all Bob's paintings? I've wondered about that myself.
It turns out he did 3 (!!!) of the paintings for each episode: 1 finished before the show, 1 during the show, 1 for the lady who discovered him so to speak.
None of these paintings are for sale. They were stored in boxes at the Bob Ross Inc. No one did anything with them. They weren't even stored properly (climate control) and what I saw, nothing in between the paintings??? (I put baking paper in between so they can not stick.)

Very interesting to see this clip! Bob has been my greatest paint teacher. He taught me to see colours, light and dark, shapes of trees and so on. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be the painter I am today. I owe him so much!
I don't use his technique, no way can I use a fan brush the way he does. But I found my own way, my style, my technique. But I needed the foundation I learnt from him to get there.

A great to watch, apparently his paintings are now in the Smithsonian. At least they'll be properly treated and stored now :)

I’m not a painter, but he made me feel like I could be one.
Not too far from the Smithsonian, I’ll have to take road trip
to see some of his happy little trees :)

Oh, I'd love to see his works in RL!
If I was you I'd check if they were on exhibit or not. Don't know how the Smithsonian works. It was in the History of American Modern Art department, or something like that.

Watching episodes of his show is so relaxing, like meditating! Once you started an episode it's almost impossible to switch it off, hihi.

Some years back I went down to Best Buys to buy some games. It's like a three and a half hour drive from here round trip. So there's an indoor Flee Market stopped in to eat. Someone in there selling painting was Ross's student and had a couple of paintings Bob did.

Nice, although they may not have been Bob's at all. None of them have ever been for sale. And apparently there's some who reproduce them so well that few can tell.
According to the vid only this woman who discovered him can tell without doubt whether it is truly Bob Ross' or not. In the vid she holds a fake that looks exactly like Bob's but isn't.
Didn't a student of his start a similar thing? Episodes on YouTube? Cannot remember his name though.

Crys,

As far as I remember the paintings weren't on site. It was offered up after my mom said, that looks like that guy who did paintings on tv." Anyone who bought his How-To tapes can claim to be his student. So just ignored it until your post pulled that memory from my mind.

Didn't buy anything because it's not really my style. I prefer the fantastic/epic or whatever the kids are calling it now. There's always someone changing the names of stuff to make themselves out to be important. Can't stand jack-off posers.
