I love zebrawood. It has a lovely pattern and a deep woody smell when it’s turned. Sadly I no longer turn wood as I kept getting rashes on my hands but I still admire exotic woods.

Lignum Vitae is ugly but at least it doesn't float. I hate it when things come bobbing up to the surface when you think you're done with them. Very inconvenient.

Hawthorn wood. Incredibly hard (harder than oak) and very fine texture. When polished it feels like satin.

Oak is a good wood. Different type give you a wide rang of building options like Liveoak for ship and boat making and so on,
