Has anyone else noticed this? My three cats have their own separate feeding spots. But on occasion and especially if they are fed something that they particularly like, they will walk away to an entirely different spot and only eat if the food is placed in front of them there .

I guess there is a difference between indoor and outdoor cats.
I started feeding two cats that hung around the gate.
Eventually, there was a line of meowing cats stretching down the road.
They knew the food was in the trunk of my car.
They ate wherever I put little piles of food.
Had to spread them out so they did not fight.
It was getting expensive -and I was getting a reputation as the crazy cat guy, so I had to stop.

If you ever want a cat, just put out some cat food.

Why do u use Chinese feng shui?

Because placement of the food seems important to them and sometimes determines if they will eat it. Hence Feng Shui, the placement of various objects in certain locations.

I've had a strong interest in Chinese culture and history for most of my adult life, it's fascinating. As people say, if something has happened it has certainly happened in China and probably more than once.

Yes, I agree it is a remarkable place. It is one of the world's greatest civilizations and has produced many remarkable inventions and literature of vital interest to all the world. Through most of its existence, China has been the most developed and important of all countries and has much to teach the world.

Nope, I have not had that with my cats. They do like a reasonably quiet place to feed. When the dishwasher or washing machine is on, or when I'm walking back & forth to cook for me, it's too much of a good thing, especially for my Bailey.
I find it difficult where to place their food, not enough space in the kitchen, they got their backs to the kitchen which I think makes them feel a bit jittery. But it cannot be done another way.

Maybe the usual spot isn't peaceful enough when they want to devour something that's really good? Usually (wild) animals want to eat where they can keep an eye on their surroundings while really getting into their delicious tucker without too much of a hurry. Maybe the usual spot isn't that?

I also know cats feel good with energies that to us aren't so good. So where a cat loves to reside is not a good place for us to sit/sleep/be.
Apart from things like a warm place next to the radiator or in the sun of course.
But cats' energies are different from ours, so might also have to do with the spot you chose?

Feng Shui should work, cats are very sensitive, but I don't know enough of it, certainly not concerning cats.

I certainly think that it might be connected to their natural behaviour. It's like when they choose different places to sleep, so as not to be predictable to any possible rivals or preditors. I just usually follow what they do and that seems to work the best and accord with their nature's.happy

Oh yes, sleeping places is another one... Give 'em a box and they're happy, until they're not. For weeks Bailey's happily sleeping and snoring the days away in his box, suddenly he doesn't want to sleep in there anymore, why, I don't know.
Maybe it got too warm, otherwise I wouldn't know.
Sometimes it would be easy if they could just tell you or write a note or something, haha.

True but cats do try to communicate with us, we just have to pay attention. I think it's mostly ears and tail indications. The "follow me" tail flag or pointing their ears at things. Ah well, it's always fun. I think cats do intentionally modify their behaviour to fit in with people and gain the advantages that we provide but as usual, if you can accommodate some of their natural behaviour then they are happier. Of course, one of my few beliefs (in the sense that it's difficult to demonstrate) is that cats have very powerful telepathic abilities :grinning:.

I’ve seen cats dance to music with their tail and their posture all the time. When there are unusual creaking of boards in the house when there are unusual creaking of boards in the house, and there is slight fear of a burglar or something, the cats freak out too. Not that I live in a house or with cats presently.

Mine love traditional Chinese music, anything by Nik Turner and some of the more melodic Hawkwind albums, they get very relaxed . I think you're right in saying that cats are better than watch dogs at detecting potential trouble, although they do get nervous and freak out when or if I do.

Yes, cats are very sensitive, attuned to their caretaker, and in a way come to protect us. Not from burglars but negative energy. Which is logical if you bear in mind that they need energy that to us isn't healthy. So I guess somehow they can transmute it, but I know they ward it off too.
It can also be good to give your cats crystal water from labradorite as they do transmute a lot of our negativity and stress and that helps them to get rid of it.
Some cats are crazy about crystals and crystals skulls too btw. Mine are used to it now as I have close to 300 high vibrational crystals everywhere in the house.
But cats have been known to curl up to a crystal skull or other crystals.
A friend of mine had a larger citrine wand and her cat kept knocking it over all the time. Drove her up the wall! Also because a large citrine wand costs a fortune, hihi. Not sure if the cat wanted to play with it or be rid of it. What is certain is that he feels something from it.
Very sensitive creatures!
