It's easy to get complacent, weather, life, aches and pains, we all do it.

But that video is great, walking is my all time favourite thing to do and it's just 15 minute in the privacy of your home.

And people any exercise can be modified to fit you... you find it too much??? Try doing just the steps without the arm movements, take smaller steps or just do part until you feel like you can do more. You have problems standing? Sit on a chair, move your feet and do the arm movements.
Want more add weights. Don't have weights use water bottles filled with water... you can also fill them with sand, rice, beans for a little heavier weight.

Exactly! And even I can do the 1-mile walk, but I do adjust the arm movements to not tax my shoulders/neck too much as I easily tense muscles in that area as it is.
But moving does make the body healthier, Leslie calls it "Juicing the joints". You get more liquid in the joints that helps movement and alleviates pain.
I love the kicks (not too high) and the knee-lifts where you touch your knees diagonally as this trains the belly muscles, including the 'diagonal' ones.

Your topic inspired me to write another blog post, hihi.
Thank you for that!

I'm learning too... juicing the joints... love it!

Everyone needs to listen to their body and modify to fit you... great job on doing that crystalflowers
And thank you, that's so cool you did a blog!

I did my 5 minutes 50 crunches and I do hamstring stretches 30 second hold 3 times each leg
(These are also great for balance)

Did anyone else????

I moved more during the day, and went for a walk. Right now, half past 9, I'm not going to do fitness stuff anymore :)

All of them? laugh
I do not like working out and doing exercises. I'm a Taurus, I'm lazy, hihi.
The only sports I ever liked was martial arts. I used to do Taekwondo, and later on Tai Chi when I couldn't do the first anymore.
I enjoyed Tai Chi a lot, but other people weren't really interested in the Art of it, the martial part. They just try it for a few months, then move to something else. I am really into the martial arts part, flowing energy through the body etc.
But each time in that group was so disappointing to me I could cry. So I stopped.

I can see where the Tai Chi and you would be a good fit! That is so you, with the energy flowflowerforyou
Have you looked online for something that you might enjoy at home away from the negative energy of others?

I’m used to a 90 minute bikram yoga class 3 - 4 times a week, this “closed”
business is driving me crazy. So, thank you, for the reminder there are
other ways we can be active during this difficult time. flowerforyou

Poetry that is a great stretch for lower back and a great example for people to do sitting. Do you ever do them in a standing position?

I do them laying down, sitting down and even standing up but standing up makes it hard to reach the keyboard keys. laugh

Wow nice job Bastetflowerforyou
I don't have any ideas of a replacement exercise that is home friendly... maybe someone else has some suggestions

I still walk and do a few exercises in the morning but I've found myself sitting in one position longer and feeling overwhelmed...
So taking 5 minutes every hour, not only breaks up my day but I find myself thinking about what I want to do the next 5 minutes

Whether you do the 5 minute challenge or find a at home replacement workout, please stop by and let us know:hugging:

Just keep moving!

Yes, there is an English Tai Chi master who has stuff online. Maybe I'll try that again.
I did love Tai Chi. The sheer fact I was doing martial arts in spite of my neck problems, wow! Such a thrill, hihi.
And indeed flowing energy is totally me, you know me well, Watson! My hand chakras always tingled during.

I've just done my DER (Daily Energy Routine), created by Donna Eden (Eden Medicine).
It really helps your health, very good to do now in this time, reduces stress, gets you focused etc etc because of the meridians, pressure points and so on.

And it gets you moving for 5-10 (once you know the movements).

Here is Donna showing you how to do it:

Adept where needed. Like I don't bend over and hang if I'm dizzy.

For the Tai Chi, you can search "erle montaigue tai chi" on YouTube. That's the old style of Tai Chi which is actualy really fluent and naturel. I've done that and the more usual form (cannot remember the name).
But this form Tai Chi by Erle Montaigue feels totally natural.

Here is lessons nr1, very well explained:

And lesson 2, 3, 7a, 7b. 5 & 6 you can search for yourself, I have seen them, I assume 4 too.

Thank you crystal:heart:

I really appreciate...I don't have wifi and do everything on a limited high speed data phone plan, so searching is really limited for me.

I will definitely check them out!

So I had to run out for a prescription that just got in... and it was time for my 5 minutesnoway so the bank parking lot was empty right beside the pharmacy, parked down there and walked the outer edge:wink:
Instead of making excuses(and I've got a million of them) ,I used that energy to find a reasonable solution

Nice :)
I've been out on my daily walk earlier on. And I sometimes just walk through the living room, around the dining room table a few times, doing the Leslie Sansone's sidestep sometimes as well.
I've been thinking, if I walk around the dining room table each time I get to the kitchen or toilet I'm likely to more than double my normal indoor steps, hihi.

That's a great goal crystal, take a lap everytime and double your inside stepsflowers

laugh I've barely had time to post today... dad's been in hyper wandering mode today and sometimes he can figure out all the locks on the doors ...since 3am back and forth from the back door to my outside door. He napped and mom watched him while I ran a errand and then he was back up, back and forth, back and forthnoway you think he'd be exhausted...I amlaugh
