It's been out for a few years but anyone else watch this?

I watched 5 seasons and the sixth prime makes us pay so I just ordered and started watching.
I can't tell you how many times I cried and lol watching this.

Best casting ever imo, suffering barbarian savages with a heart.

I watched and loved it but it wasn't as good after Ragnar so it was no longer must see.

I agree, that role was fit for him & the last few seasons weren't as awesome.
(Snake pit gutted me)
But I love all the charachers, casting was done especially well imo.

I watched from when it first came out, but I also lost interest after Ragnar, and actually I didn't like it so much anymore when their Paris adventure began. I know that's history but I lost interest then.
So I stopped watching.

Spoilers:

I also didn't like it as much when ragnar went to France and seemed to go insane and suicidal. But I did love the other characters so much it kept me hooked, especially his first wife and sons.

The end of the series was especially gutting and surprisingly very inaccurate. I'll link so you can skim it if you'd like to see how the writers changed history to make the show more exciting.

All in all I still loved it as the characters bring it to life and historically it was pretty accurate (depending on which country you ask) except season six when the writers decided to have Russia kill off the Vikings.

The snake pit really did happen unfortunately. :pensive:

Yes it got worse, used to like it

Lagertha :kissing_heart: omg Ragnar what were you thinking, okay the other 1 was pretty, and some might say she used a spell or 3, but you didn't exactly try hard to resist, you had it made, I mean come on, Lagertha ffs, what more could a man ask for

Lagertha ❀ Exactly my thoughts, the 2nd wife was not even in the same league, even though supposed to be a princess.

Between her & Ragnar, it's hard to know who I'm crushing on more.

Irl history no mention how she dies, but horrible end for the worlds most Shield Maiden on the show.

I agree. I didn't like that either. We all love to see a happy couple remain coupled, hihi.
Thing is, that according to what they know of Ragnar they DID split, she did get married to another man too.
She also bore him a son, and 2 daughters. The son was not BjΓΆrn Ironside though...

Ragnar took a 2nd wife: Thora. She gave him a few sons, but eventually she died and Ragnar was devastated.

Then, later, he met this Asgauld, married her and she bore him many sons. One of these is BjΓΆrn Ironside...

So Lagertha & Asgauld apparently never had this "She leaves or I leave!" thing.
It's a shame they didn't stick to what is known and added Thora to the story. But I guess that would've taken too many episodes then?
Would've made the appearance of Asgauld a lot smoother and more acceptable.
