It's just me and my two dogs after being a caregiver for over a decade.

I'm pretty reclusive, anyway -so my lifestyle really hasn't changed.

I live alone too but I’m not lonely. I actually like my own company and stay in touch with friends and family daily.

I live alone, don't have any friends near, all are miles away so don't visit often, or at all now. I don't uselessly chat on the phone, or email or correspond. It gives me time to do whatever it is that I'm working on at the moment, undisturbed mostly. I see the knuckleheads at work, only 3 of them, and not much to say there. Lacking in interestingness.

Socialising now is talking to the cashier at the shops before going home. And voyeristically listening to the dirty laundry aired by fighting couples around me. Not exactly social, but local and entertaining.

Cat you've always got friends here at mingle, and you can hit me up for a chat about anything any time; I'm not always a moron, although still probably not your ideal, and a bit far away.

I live alone , but get out some too. I talk on the phone to family and friends often. I don't miss much except Shopping in retail and restaurants dinning inside. I will get back to activities when lockdown is Over.

I feel sorry for depressed people. I read inspirational books too.

I'm not lonely, I also have a inside :cat2: Cat. :grinning:

you are wrong, you are neither the first nor the last being to do this, the simple fact that I came here to post for tune, it only means one thing .... you are not alone! and I, from distant (you) Romania, offer you my friendship and my moral support ... What did you say? Only? Isolated? No, I won't let you slip on this slope ... unless you block me ... Until then, I only wish you good thoughts ... Laurent.

I repeat to you exactly the same words, thoughts, emotions, feelings that I transmitted to Catinidaho: "you are wrong, you are neither the first nor the last being to do this, the simple fact that I came here to post for tune , it only means one thing .... you are not alone! and I, from distant (you) Romania, offer you my friendship and my moral support ... I keep in touch with friends via zoom, messenger, calling them on the phone.

I need to communicate with people somehow.

Hi. I have lived alone now for about 15 years, I like to hike, fish and mountain bike so this is no big deal for me. when I get together with family members over their house we just stay away from each other otherwise I wear a mask.

I hear that people say they are staying home alone because of this virus. I hear the same people say they are living with a spouse/partner, and maybe kids. I'm interested in knowing, how many people live completely alone? That is me. Do you like that? What are your thoughts?

Pandemic, epidemic, or not, I LOVE living by myself! Always have, especially as an introvert. My thoughts-- you gotta do what makes you happy. If you can't live alone, get a roommate, or a pet.

Well, I live alone and I don't have any friends. I see that most people do online chats and talk on the phone.

Have you considered making friends???

It bothers me sometimes. I took my friends up on the invitation to see their campground.

I am back at work so I am not socially isolated during the week any more.

I'd rather be happy single than be miserable in a relationship. Living alone teaches you a lot more than you'd ever thought or imagined. What you learn alone can prepare for so many unforeseen future events.

Correct. There is a difference between alone and lonely. Most confuse the two. Ty for pointing that out. I like being alone, even though I do get lonely from time to time. However, it's my choice and so far it works :)

Hi, It's been a challenge since March with this pandemic. I live alone which is truly amazing to have your freedom and peace of mind. However, my sister and mother do weekly check-ins so that we know each of us are doing well. I also telework from home since March. That was an interesting transition from the office environment to being home. I had to make space to create a home office. I have experience loneliness especially being in contact with people on the daily basis before this pandemic. Otherwise, utilizing zoom often for work keeps me more connected to people, sometimes zoom meetings can be overwhelming. I also like the option to not always show your face which is not required for work all of the time. Otherwise meeting with coworkers on different platforms for meetings or just going over projects helps a lot in getting through the day.
