I really enjoy when actors characters effectively portray true alignment.
The genre, plot and subject matter in the films don't have to be all that good if there is a realistic connection in the characters.
For example:
Dogman (2012)
Larry Joe Campbell plays Hanklin Purvis
Mariann Mayberry plays Dorothy Purvis
These two make an otherwise bad werewolf movie enjoyable to watch.
If I met them in real life, I would want to be their friend.

Night Feeders (2006) syfy original type film
Donnie Evans plays Donnie
Terrible alien romp but Donnie is so adorably innocent to watch.
Love how he treats Terry (Kate Leahey)
Funniest line Donny says he's coming back with his redneck buddies!
Whoever wrote his lines was brilliant and Evans pulls it off perfectly.

You should read some of the comments on the movie in the comments section.
LOL, I started watching it and almost forgot to finish my post here, Hahaha!
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) well-made scifi fantasy
Dane DeHaan plays Major Valerian
Cara Delevingne plays Sergeant Laureline
These two have a connection that makes the film that much better.
The story is so-so, the effects are typical but their interaction makes the movie.
Add in the awesome performance by Rihanna as Bubble and the movie is a winner.
