Do people remember when Dudley Moore died? In 2002. People were kind of mean to him around the time he died. He lived not that far from my sister and I was visiting her at the time. He had complications of progressive supranuclear palsy. A degenerative brain disorder. He died at age 66. The media really put him down. It was sad.

Unfortunately, he was a one hit wonder. He did a great drunk and Arthur was his only success IMO. I've watched many of his other works (Wholly Moses, 10, Santa Claus, Arthur 2) and he just didn't have the same pizzazz. His interaction and timing with Sir John Gielgud were OUTSTANDING. Perhaps it was the skill of Gielgud that brought out his best...He just never evolved beyond the happy drunk.

He was liked in the movie "10'. Don't dislike him. I liked him in "Foul Play".

Arthur will always stand in one of my personal favorite movies...I just never saw him excel in anything besides that...Honestly, I think it was the material he was working with was the problem.

Loved that man. Foul Play, well he was plain hilarious
and stands the test of time.

In his later years I do believe he had some misdiagnoses
and people were quick to attribute it to drinking and drugs.

He was a gem.
Irreplaceable.

I'm a big Goldie Hawn fan and if Dudley Moore is there, that is extra.

A remarkably talented comic actor and pianist, remembered mostly in the UK for his partnership with Peter Cook. Unfortunately, some people seem to delight in assuming the worst about others.:pensive:
