How is that sad? She got to be 103?
A beautiful woman who helped a lot of people with her songs. That's beautiful, as is the fact she got to live this long.
May she have had a peaceful transition.

The death of anyone is sad regardless of age but I’m sure her legacy will live on.

My friend’s mother passed last month; she was one month short of her 101st birthday and I felt sad about that too.

I guess we all have our ways of seeing it and dealing with it.

These days many people insist that their funeral be a happy one. They don't want all that sad stuff. And many people make their transition in peace, willing to go and move on.

Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day?
Vera, Vera
What has become of you
Does anybody else in here
Feel the way I do?

Vera was such an inspiration ... she was only 22 when she recorded we’ll meet again . I love this clip and I like this version better than the orchestrated version released later . There is a quality about it that is so poignant .

Also love the white cliffs of Dover http://youtu.be/d5aeClRY4kA

.,i thought it was lovely that they celebrated her 100th birthday by projecting her image on the Dover cliffs .... I hope Britain does something as special for her memorial .

RIP Vera  :flag_gb:

I'm sure that she will get a full State funeral.
