Any music lovers, performers of music, members or former members of bands?
I'm a keyboard player, semi-professional, and I love music of almost all types. Have performed solo and with pop/rock bands for years. Trained classically on piano, but play by ear now. Pop, rock, some jazz, boogie woogie, 'folk', etc. Open to any discussions about music.

I'm a retired pro sound man, had a successful sound reinforcement company for about 30 years and lived most of that time in the South and Southeastern US, South Carolina for the last 20 years before I retired. Worked for/with many artists you all would know including the recently passed Charlie Daniels (RIP Charlie).

Started at 16 with a guitar from a charity shop, learned the basics quickly and was in a pub/club band within a couple of months, drifted in and out of a few bands playing guitar/bass , backing vocals and even bluffed it on drums for a short while,

I settled with a popular local band for a few years playing mostly guitar , keyboards had started to appear that were small with dozens of sounds and about the price of A good guitar , I bought a Casio and started to add some strings and brass to the songs , the effect was amazing the band got a lot more bookings and I started to get offers from other more successful bands doing bigger venues for more money ,

I joined the highest paying one , keyboards got better and cheaper the drums became programmable , we ditched the drummer , the bass lines could follow the left hand, we ditched the bass player , so me mostly on keyboards and a guitarist/ lead vocalist left ,

He did not turn up at a gig and I don't know how but I got through it on my own ,when I was paid the full money without problems , I decided to go solo

Over the years the keyboards became dream machines with sampling, sequencing midi, vocal processors ,I did about 35 years like this ,

I packed it in at 60 sold all the electronics, and now just play acoustic guitars and ukes for my own fun
