It would be good to be rich enough to start and support many unprofitable businesses which actually help humanity and nature, rather than polluting or destroying to make a profit, like the current trend is.
With some dosh I could buy a nice house, a nice wife, a nice car, and appoint people to do whatever I don't want to do. Get someone else to build my boats.
I could get crazy and launch a bicycle into space with a space suited mannequin riding it, and solar panels powering the wheels spinning, for stabilisation. I want a yellow submarine, a steam powered spruce goose, and a real hoverboard.
I could travel the world, and annoy fellow minglers in person; joy.
But what is the impact created by gaining that profit ? It has to come from taking from people (over charging), or taking from nature, or both.
The down side of super richness wouldn't make it worth it if you were super mega rich: massive security, no privacy, paranoia, hoards requesting donations and help, devious employees, crazy stalkers, and no one can get near you so you lose touch with community and reality. You could only mingle with other 'celebrities' and heads of state and the like. Never to meet another real average person again.
10 Mil would do me for life, and also my new partner, if she's not dishonest.
Creating nonsense is one sure way to get rid of your money, haha.
And almost all -if not all- rich people do things for the planet, mankind, animals etc. etc.
That's the good thing when you're that rich: you are far more freer from stress over paying the bills, which makes it a helluva lot easier to get into the heart and wanting to serve.
BTW almost all rich people got there by doing something that serves other people. People who are only focused on making lots of money are the ones who usually don't make it. Really successful people all had/have a vision, a passion, and as opposed to 'average' people, they also act upon it and take risk to manifest their dream.
Average people who never get there tend to stay stuck in the rat-race, afraid to get out, afraid they lose what little they have.
Meaning their vision and passion isn't strong enough to propel them forward.
Many then end up blaming rich people because they're envious. That's why we say "he's filthy stinking rich!" or "he probably sells drugs!" etc.
Also the reason why I chose different phrasing my this topic's title :)
