Whats your favorite wood to work with? Wait....dont answer that...️

Well... I've worked with one of the most difficult types of wood: hawthorn. Basically harder than oak, but oh-so beautiful if you succeed in peeling off its bark, which was quite the GRRRRRRRRRR thing, lol, until I found out how to go about it.
Beautiful wood!! Very fine texture, you can't even see it really, once polished. I got a wand and a powerstick of approx 1.60m that I made from hawthorn. Without pruning. I don't like pruning trees for this.

Red oak its what i make bows out of. Archery and bow making is what got me into wood working but i want to expand into other things uaing wood. Stumpys nubs a YouTube channel is a favorite of mine

what ever is most readily available.. which is usually fake press board, or plywood.
it would depend on what I'm building, is I'm going to buy real wood to work with. and then the wood used depends on what I'm going to build. and where it will be used (inside outside)

I recently built a pic nick table for my sister using fir for the frame and 1X6 white oak slats for the table top and bench then used honey oak stain and water seal as the finish
