I used the patches when I left Florida to do seasonal work. Patches and the lozenges. I liked the patches because it keep an even flow of a lower dose of nicotine in me. That helped quite a bit with cravings, I had very few, other than the association cravings, like when I drank coffee and after meals.
I stayed off cigarettes for a year, so between the patches and my own determination/commitment, it was successful. I did start again exactly one year later and still smoke, but I know if I decide again to quit and I seriously want to stop, the patches will be the way to do it.
Congratulations and best wishes to you!
Thanks you!
So you were also successful because of the patches! I had to Google lozenges. I take it especially to quit smoking or just some tablet things to have something in your mouth?
They dissolve in your mouth. Some people can't use them because they irritate the gums and inner cheek. The biggest problem I found with them is I became addicted to them, probably more psychologically. I also got used to having something in my mouth all the time, so they were difficult to stop. I needed to get hard candy to substitute them. But if you can keep from popping them like candy, they are nice for that instant fix of nicotine.
Using the patch, in my opinion, would be better. You can slowly reduce the amount of nicotine, and if you need that "hand to mouth" experience, using a straw or lollipop works well.
