Amazon is hiring 33,000 new employees with an average compensation package worth $150,000

I heard this today in the morn... hardly could believe my ears... if they are really doing this ... I have not seen this kind of jobs like this since the early yrs ... back when my father an others worked in jobs that had so much security ... this is awesome ... this is how co. used to be with out taking their biz out of the US for cheap labor ... and should have stay for those in the united states ... before the crashing of co. and having to buy the elders out ... this starts $15. a hr. healthcare ... they are offing all of this and more ... really a great thing to do especially now ... amazing do hope it is all true ... I have heard ...tcbs...

OK...those are not jobs the average person could get in their warehouses/ fulfillment centers

OK, THOSE are the jobs regular people could get..and those do NOT pay anywhere near $150,000...

"The employees who fill the corporate and tech roles will receive an average pay of $150,000, including salary, stock-based compensation and benefits, an Amazon spokesperson told CNN Business."

Well...there it is....won;t benefit your average working person...

at $15 an hour the benefits package would have to be worth $120,000 a year or 4 times their wage

And in the vid they speak of 100.000 people not 33.000? So I think the 33.000 is the higher positions, the rest is not.

Amazon has already hired more than 175,000 people to staff up during the coronavirus pandemic to help meet surging demand for delivery.

Looks like Jeff Bezos is doing a great job. Kinda funny as there's a lot of stories going round about him being part of the 'evil powers' who has nasty plans for mankind.
Granted, the man is so effing rich he could buy the planet, haha.

If you read the actual article..(I posted snippets from it), you see it is NOT *exactly* as the OP stated....
The $150,000, etc is NOT for your average "fulfillment center" worker...just the corporate and tech positions...

The rest get $15 an hour.

I know someone out of state that actually use to work for Amazon.

They are not that great and need to improve benefits.

Many companies under pay individuals.

I've read people say the same thing, mostly hearsay, a friend of a friend worked for... That kind of thing.
What is the truth?
And compared to being a waitress for a few dollars an hour, having to work 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet... what is bad pay?

You make it sound as if $15 an hour as 'not much'... correct me if I'm wrong but is that not a more than decent hourly rate in the States? Way more than most can dream of?
Even here it'd be quite much above minimum wage which I think is $10.50 and from what I know way higher than what most average jobs get you in the US. So what's so bad about it? I think it's pretty damned good.

Cost of living in many States here in US is expensive. Most people know what a fare wage for their job is.

actually crystal 15 an hour is either the top of the bottom wages or the bottom of the middle wages. in california you could not support a household on that.
in some other parts of the country you could live fairly well on that
