Tortellini soup is pretty good. I found a recipe online by Googling it.

It was more than enough to feed 5 people.

I plan to make soto ayam soon. You cannot buy this, and requires quite a lot of ingredients.

It's Indonesian chicken soup that's meant to be a meal. It's gorgeous! Last time I had it I still lived in Indonesia, which is why I'd love to make it. Soon.

An example recipe in English you can find here. It mentions peanut oil (never heard of that), but according to my recipe (Dutch) from an Indonesian you use sunflower oil.
Probably easier to find and cheaper :)

I make what I call Beany Bean Soup
Gotta use a big stockpot over low heat, stirring occasionally.

First, the meat...

Brown some ground beef in a fry pan with your desired seasoning taking care to leave large chunks of meat together. You can also use stew meat or a beef or pork roast cut into 1 inch chunks.
Drain and set aside.

Precook some Italian sausage or Italian HOT sausage in the same pan, covered.
Cut into 1 inch chunks, season with your favorite seasonings then drain and set aside.

In the stock pot add the following:
1 can of kidney beans (light or dark) not drained
1 can of pinto beans not drained
1 can of black eye peas, drained
1 can of wax beans or cut green beans, drained
1 cup of dissolved beef bouillon or aujus
1 packet of Lipton onion soup mix or 1 can of Campbell's french onion soup.
1 - 2 cans of whole white "New" potatoes, drained
1 - 2 cans of mushroom buttons drained or add a pint of whole fresh mushrooms, washed, trimmed and halved down the center.
1 can of Italian stewed tomatoes or some Roma tomatoes trimmed and sliced thick. (The stewed tomatoes taste better to me)
2 - 3 cups of warm water

add the meat and stir it up. Season to taste
Bring the soup to a boil, stir, cover, reduce heat and simmer for a few hours stirring occasionally.

It tastes great with warm cornbread and/or chili crackers and it has leftover appeal.

I used to make it with hot peppers and chili oil but I can't do the hot food anymore.

One of my favorite soups is one my momma called Poor Man's Soup. It has no set ingredients list and it basically consists of whatever you find in the fridge! Lol Tonight I made it with chicken, garlic, Serrano chilies, onion, water and something like Mrs. Dash seasoning. I let it bubble away for an hour or so and it was really good. Very simple ingredients. The same with her Veggie soup. Any veggies that you want, put it in a pot or a crock pot and add vegetable stoc, or beef consume, or chicken stock and let it simmer and get mushy.... I like to add zucchini and squash to the mix, sometimes rice. My mom could always make a meal with very little and it just worked. With it getting colder, soups and stews are very good.

I make what we call Poorman's Meal
Not really a soup tho.

My mom used to make Bacon Soup but I didn't get the recipe.
My dad used to tell me, when I complained about dinner, during the Threadbare Thirties they had to boil an old leather boot for soup because there was no food. Boot Soup! EWWW!

I always wanted to try homemade French Onion Soup in a Bread Bowl.

You can find gazillions of soup recipes on Pinterest.
There's a pork chowder in a bacon bowl I'd like to try someday.

Pork chowder? Interesting! If it has bacon in it, it has to be good! 🥓🥓🥓
I haven't made French Onion soup in a while, but I always found that the best recipes were the ones that kept it simple.

Keto chili is good. ( I don't do Keto anymore, but still make the chili. No beans, and very flavorful. Recipe below. It's a Pinterest.

My new favorite soup is:
Spiced Vegetable and Chicken Soup
6 cups chicken stock
3 onions - chopped
3 zucchini - chopped
3 potatoes - cubed
4 carrots - chopped
2 Serrano chilies - chopped into small pieces
1/4 cup Mrs. Dash seasoning
1 tsp salt (optional)
4 chicken breasts cut into bite sized pieces
1 can diced tomatoes with juice

Throw into a pot and simmer until vegetables are tender and mushy. Serve as you like to.

I will add more chilies if I'm not feeling well, but the 2 add just enough spice to warm you up. I'm a bit off because I like to tear a bagel into pieces and put it in the soup bowl. Lol
It soaks up some of the broth and it's quite tasty!
