Happy Halloween!
It's that time a year again and tomorrow it's Halloween, Hallow's eve, Samhain.
Samhain is the old Celtic New Year, so a letting go of the old and a new start.

The veils are thin this time a year, which is where the spooky, spirit stuff came from. It is easier now to connect with spirit and for spirit to connect with us.

It is the time of year of the Crone (the old wise woman) and the energy is about turning inward. The colour is black. Not a creepy black btw. I feel it's a beautiful velveteen black, which is a high energy, and powerful.
Samhain is also the last harvest feast of the year. The time where pigs etc were slaughtered to have enough foods for winter, and preferably a variety with foods that were harvested earlier (grains, seeds, nuts, apples & pears, berries etc).

Anyhow, wishing you all a Happy New Year and a great Halloween Evening!!
And a Blessed Samhain!

No Halloween celebrating here. Some places have been very resourceful in how they do it so it can still happen albeit spread out over more days.
But I'm not taking part anyway.

I am thinking of doing something tonight for Samhain though. Even if it's just small.
I'll have to go upstairs and see what I got that would be nice on my make-shift altar (the top of an antique cupboard).
But I already celebrated it with ritual last night. It was beautiful, and powerful.
The result of all the energies (the ritual/celebration, full moon & Samhain) gave me a helluva lot of dreams last night!
Part of me literally chuckled as I saw the link to last night, another part would've been happier with a good night's sleep.

Anywho... whatever you do, or not, enjoy the evening!

I made a bit of an altar, for the first time in years :)

My salt lamp fits right in!
My cauldron, chalice, kangaroo skull, obsidian raven skull, some crystals, black cat incense holder, my bell etc.
Oh, and last night's candle that will be lit on Yule, 21st of December is on it now too. (not in photo)

The birds in the back to the right belonged to my gran and my dad, so fits right in now for Samhain.

Very nice.
I'll be performing a short commemorative rite for my familial dead later this evening.

I was thinking of a similar thing, although simple & short.
Wishing you a beautiful ritual!

Thank you, Stormy!!
I realised after I made it how many things with a story are on there. Funny how you can put that together without realising it, hihi.

To add to it I lit two weeping rose candles tonight. One to remember my ancestors, the other specifically for my father
Thanking all of them for what they brought me and their other offspring and a few other nice things. Lots of gratitude. Blew my heart wide open!
