What age group you looking for?

We don't traditionally do pressies with Christmas as we have our own celebration where the kids get pressies: St Nicolas on Dec 5th.

Unfortunately these days more and more people do the Christmas thing :/ Result is that our own traditional celebration is beginning to disappear while it used to be THE most important one in the year.

We do of course traditionally do a tree, but not the pressie bit, which does happen now. It was the tree and on 1st Christmas day a more elaborate meal with the family.

I will have to get a pressie soon though for my son whose birthday is on the 30th :)

Pressie ideas... depends who for and what their interests are.
Last year I got my son a really cool steam punk like fully-functionally brass compass and sun-dial in one. it came in a nice wooden box.
He was SO happy with it!

My girl got him a delicate parchment Egyptian print.

A card with $10 in it? Then they can spend it on what they want. My daughter always wants money, normally in the hundreds though lol.

If you know that someone is a book lover, give used books. My sister sends me gifts of books from library sales for Xmas and my birthday. I love it.

I was thinking a beard trimming bib and a beard shaper to make trimming easier for my daughter's partner. But since he loves he beard he likely already has that. I better ask my girl...

I want an orrery for my boy, a real nice one. Dya think I can find one? I found one that was real cool, but it's out of stock everywhere and no clue if and when it comes back.
I found a model to build and paint yourself. I thought it could be nice for now as he likes doing such things. Now I cannot find it anymore, grrrrrrr...
For my son it can be a tad more expensive as his birthday is on the 30th.

No clue yet for my girl or my mum.

I'm afraid it's going to come down to Dutch shops, online or not, due to long delivery times from abroad.
So Etsy is out of the question. Dammit.

For the kids make up a mini hamper of sweets and chocolates, we have them here in the UK ready made they are called a 'Selection Box', usually have Santa and his sleigh decorating the front of the box and contain the usual chocolate bars. Prices vary from Β£1.00 to Β£10.00. For adults you could do a mini hamper of toiletries, bubble bath, etc, Easy to make up your own and decorate the box yourself for $10.00. Just a thought.

Maybe candy or a gift card. If you have a Dollar Tree near you they have mugs, plates, decorations, candy for a dollar.

So all you give and get is candy? noway

I love to find things for people that are quite personal and a bit unusual. Not like "I got to give something so anything goes". That would be socks, toiletries, also candy.

As it is I'm a bit stuck for my mum. She doesn't really have any hobbies anymore and she doesn't read either. Bloody difficult!

I did get the cutest li'l wooden lucky elephant for my daughter's partner. I have to find him something else yet, but I came across that elephant and I had an immediate "Yes!!" So I think somehow it's going to resonate with him.
Apparently the trunk has to be up because it holds the luck and otherwise it runs out.
Never too old to learn something new, haha.
And it's SO cute!!

I got the galaxy lamp for my son and a DIY orrery/planetarium. The light is gorgeous, the orrery will come in Monday.
My girl gets Dream Reading Cards.
I got myself the Forest of Enchantment Tarot and a beautiful Inspiration Agenda 2021 as I will get money for Christmas. So those are my pressies :)

If you're looking for something nice and personal, go to Etsy! Over the years I've gotten unbelievably great pressies there.

My 2021 Inspiration Agenda is wonderful! I'm totally in love with it love I can't wait for the new year.

The little fabric lucky elephant for my mum -mainly royal blue- is so cute!
So is the wooden lucky elephant for my girl's partner.
I really enjoy all these goodies coming in! It makes me feel it's Christmas already

Now it's waiting for my mum's calendar which just got dispatched so I guess will arrive tomorrow. And waiting for despatch of my 2 card decks. One will arrive Friday, the other I don't know yet :/ Has to come from the UK so I hope it makes it here before Christmas as postage services are going nuts. They've even asked not to return anything at the mo as they don't know how the hell to get things out.

nice I have so many catholic names...in my family... I feel like I am surrounded by all of them ... St Nicolas on Dec 5th. that would be my uncle Nick  I never heard this before In the Catholic Church, St. Nick's feast day is celebrated on the anniversary of his death, which is Dec. 6. The tradition of receiving small gifts ... cool ">) and then there is little Christmas ...In Italian folklore, Befana (pronounced [beˈfaːna]) is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve (the night of January 5) in a similar way to St. Nicholas or Santa Claus. A popular belief is that her name derives from the Feast of Epiphany (Italian: Festa dell'Epifania).
