I guess I misread the intent of this thread?
I thought it was a Rory Gallagher Tribute thread?
I guess I should have paid more attention to the title.
I enjoy many forms of music, much which never hits the airwaves nor the charts.
My interests also have many shades and styles, from standard instruments like drums & guitars, sax and keyboards to electronic compositions and midi files.
I find talent in vocalizations as well. From scat singing to chanting and wailing. Depending on my current mood, I listen to and enjoy a wide range of audio stimuli.
Many years ago, I found what is called 'trance'. I find there are many 'genres' of trance music which appeal to me. Currently, I'm in a progressive trance kick but I still like PsyGoa and Ambient.
I've two websites I frequent for a trance fix.
HBR1
http://www.hbr1.com/
and
Psyradio
http://html.psyradio.fm/
I can direct my Winamp to those sites and use Stream Ripper to capture the music for my collection.
I like Wayne Lytle's Animusic midi files.
http://www.animusic.com/
Animusic can also be found on YouTube

I also like the music found in symphonic metal but I don't care for the harsh male vocals. Some of the women have angelic voices tho. Some of the music videos are amazing productions that often have complex, intense visuals.
A few bands:
Epica
Xandria
Nox Arcana
Nightwish
Within Temptation
I'm also VERY fond of Guitar Blues. I blame Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan for that. Rory Gallagher, Hot Tuna, Ten Years After, Deep Purple, Allman Brothers, Govt Mule, Janis Joplin, Humble Pie, Joe Walsh, Johnny Winter, CCR, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, The Guess Who, Foghat, Mott The Hoople, Nils Lofgren, Rare Earth, Savoy Brown, Alan Parsons Project, Tony Joe White, Uriah Heep, ZZ Top, The Grass Roots, UFO, The James Gang, Toto, Bread and many others influenced my interest in the Blues.
I thoroughly enjoy Trampled Under Foot, Seasick Steve, Aynsley Lister, Chris Thomas King, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Beth Hart, Eric Johnson, Cee Cee James, Ian Parker, Calum Graham, Matt Schofield, King King, The Nimmo Brothers, Samantha Fish, Tinsley Ellis, Twelve Bar Blues Band, Walter Trout and too many more to list.
I'm fond of Sax & Harmonica when blended correctly.
I like Indian Flute meditation music, Native American rhythms, and Asian Vocal serenades. I even occasionally enjoy Pagan Instrumentals.
