It's an awful feeling when everyone else is fast asleep I'm the night owl!
I experienced that when I was super stressed out after my accident and disability. No insurance, tremendous pain, no appetite, couldn't lay down, couldn't relax.
It took me 2 months to gather my papers for a disability claim and another month before it was approved and I could see a doctor again and get some meds.
I would spend nights on my daughter's sofa (I was homeless) and pass out from the pain for about an hour a night. I was fragmented, uncoordinated and would 'see things', weird things.
I had gone 4 days without sleep before but three months!
When I finally got some pain meds in me I slept for three days only waking to take more meds and some water. My daughter was scared.
Stress can do many strange things to you. Worry causes stress. It might help if you find inner contentment. Try to live in the moment (right here/right now).
Its not really a 'trick' if it becomes a way of life. Since its a way of life, it tends to last.
Pain still keeps me awake sometimes. I'm strictly over-the-counter pain meds now. Doctors seem to think everybody is a drug addict or a drug pusher. I've adapted but the pain is still bad sometimes.
I've learned to distract my focus from it.
Stress isn't a problem for me anymore. I don't worry about things.
I learned to live in the right here/right now.
I don't know your personal conditions and don't need to. If something I said works or leads you to another solution which works go for it.
You really do need to sleep at least 6 hrs per 24.
Brains need to defragment and clear.
Best of luck to ya!
