If I were any calmer I'd be dead - LOL.
I agree, the numbers don't lie. Covid isn't any worse than some flus and the common cold is more widespread than either.
I don't think the hub bub is all about deaths or infected or recovered. The hub bub seems to be the 'potential' for it to mutate 'then' become a serious more widespread problem affecting a larger portion of society. It has already done that and is still mutating.
The closures and social distancing is more of an effort to contain it than anything else. The spread is pandemic because of population density and world travel. It literally flew around the world.
The virus is real. The potential threat is real. The panic is a response to potential. Certain groups are more prone to dangerous health problems and death. Since there's no way to isolate only those people, the measures need to be as they are to cover all bases.
Granted, I think some of their logic is panic driven but the intention is valid. Plus you have liar types who exaggerate data, news agencies who want discord to sell advertising space and panic prone people who believe everything they see and hear without a reality foundation.
World population is still growing. There's more people being born than dying. One could almost see this as a test run to a future, more deadlier virus which kills more per sq/mile. Pandemics are only going to get worse as time moves forward because people love to make babies and raise families. Technology is giving those who are alive a longer, healthier life. Nature culls over-populated species. So far, we can stay ahead of it but soon, our numbers will tip the scales in nature's favor no matter our technology.
I say this calmly with simple logic. I'll be dead in less than 10-15 years.
Unless mankind comes up with a wonder drug and makes it available to everyone, for free. LOL
From my experience I totally disagree with you: I hope you do not believe you are going to die in 10-15 years because of Covid.
Even if you have underlying health issues or fall in the "at risk" group, this does not make you dead in the water. I believe the majority of people in the "at risk" group who contacted Covid have survived and until proven otherwise, I believe they still have anit-bodies against Covid and Covid-like strains.
The only alarm I hear is: KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON! A healthy person has more than great odds of survival. Want to take action? Do what doctors always tell everyone: eat healthy, get healthy excersize, and get a good night of sleep.
LOL, no, not from covid. According to the doctors who put me out of work, I should already be dead. Been on borrowed time for nearly 8 years. Not because they were wrong, because I changed my lifestyle.
I've been socially distanced for over 10 years now and it has nothing to do with covid or health problems. It has everything to do with how I view society. I stopped watching TV and listening to radio broadcasts over 20 years ago. In my opinion its pure insanity.
Granted, if I contract covid, it will probably kill me but I don't 'worry' about it. I do find the insanity of the pandemic entertaining. I post headlines and short quips of articles I find not because I'm concerned, because I see the insanity which is pushed onto the public by NEWS agencies.
The use of key words which are meant to trigger stress and panic in the public.
For most of my life, even now, I have believed the human body is able to maintain its own health. It got away from me but I've regained more control.
The accident which nearly ended me happened to someone else and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The corresponding health problems resulted from that and the stress which occurred. Stress kills. TV and radio make money from stressing people out. People also stress themselves out. Society stress causes insanity in the society. I now maintain as stress free life.
I don't worry. I don't delude myself about reality to try to make me feel better. I embrace reality.
I've always kept current on vaccinations. I made sure my kids were vaccinated when they were in my care. I always vaccinated my pets. I have nothing against vaccinations.
The reason I am not interested in getting the covid vaccine is because the last flu shot I got made me sicker than any other flu shot I ever got. Mainly because of my health conditions. I am concerned I will get the same harsh results from the covid vaccine. Plus, time tells the real story. I'll wait till some time passes and I see if problems with the vaccine develops over long duration. Its the ole Red Dye #5 scenario. The lead paint scenario.
There may be absolutely nothing wrong with the covid vaccines. There was nothing wrong with Red Dye #5 or lead based paint either...till there was.
Its obvious by such a wide range of vaccines that its still in testing. Yes, its supposedly fit for human use but the very fact there are more than one vaccines available tells me they don't know if any of them are the right one.
If there were a right one, it wouldn't be a choice of vaccine formulas. It would be 'THE' covid vaccine (meaning: one vaccine).
Doctors 'practice medicine', carpenters 'build' houses, mechanics 'fix' cars. Would you have your home built by a carpenter who 'practices' building houses or a mechanic who 'practices' fixing cars?
If the carpenter doesn't build your home right, he is responsible to come fix his mistake. If a mechanic doesn't fix your car right you expect him to make good on the repairs. BUT, if a doctor prescribes the wrong medicine, you pay the bill and then go back to him to try again, then you pay him again.
Tell me I'm lying.
