Inspired by your story, I just watched a couple of 'what to do when a bear attacks' clips. I now get why bear spray works -since we don't have bears here it was alien to me and I wondered how well it worked. Apparently it's way more effective than shooting even!
I've learnt new things today, haha. I like learning new things, so thanks for inspiring me!
You're welcome Crystal

, I'm happy I inspired you to do so. I'm reading more about the grizzly, they are a very cool species. I want to learn more about all the wildlife here, it will give me a better understanding of their ways and help form a better connection... from afar, haha. More of a healthy respect for their personal space in case I do eventually encounter one. I really believe it's possible to coexist with wildlife, as long as you respect their space and don't cause them to feel threatened. To form a connection... from afar, haha.
When I shared space with bees a while back, I learned with hornets, I could share space as long as there was about three feet between us. Any closer and they started getting nervous. With the honey/bumble bees, I was about to walk through the field with them buzzing around me and never got stung. With the snake, a non-poisonous one, it was about two feet... that particular snake came to me and just hung out for five or ten minutes. I let it decide how close we got and just communed with it's energy.
Hmmm, I'm getting all excited talking about this... maybe doing something that involves wildlife is my true calling.

Something to consider and think about.
Thanks Crystal!
I agree with you, about peaceful co-existence being possible! We just need to learn what they do and require and respect that.
Bees and bumblebees I'm okay with as well. Snakes, eeeww... I'm SO glad I never saw a snake in Australia! I'm not used to snakes, we don't really have many here anymore. There are places where you could encounter an adder or a grass snake, but rarely happens, or maybe most don't see it. Adders have become rare in our country.
My English friend -who's crazy nuts about snakes and slithering things- told me I could have a grass snake in my garden. Great! Thanks for telling me! I'm so happy!
Cool that I inspired you in turn! We seem to have that effect on each other, hihi.
Lord knows what you get into! I'm happy you're enjoying yourself, and the wildlife.
