I use password but most everything is fingerprinted.

I don't want him looking at mine and I won't look at his.

I have nothing to hide, it's called trust.

What ever happened to "you show me yours and I'll show you mine". ah the good old days!

my phone is fringerprint and pincode protected. i do everything on desktop. my ex and kids know my phone securities and i have no issues about them using it.

heck my youngest daughter used my phone alot after school because she had an iphone and my android only had the anime drawing app she needed.

goes along the same lines as weirdoes that get married but keep separate bank accounts.....if you get my drift. open is honest.

heck i mainly use the mob when im answering the phone or at the docs.....

In a relationship based on trust, I don't need to snoop on your phone. it all depends on the relationship of trust that binds you

Do you have a password protected smartphone or do you keep it unlocked at all times.

And

Would you let your partner , any status , access your phone messages , contac and other personal data without permission ???

My husband gave me his passwords and I gave him mind. We had trust... I can't handle a sneaky person.

Actually the last question is not possible since all phones can be password-protected. So without permission is then impossible, unless he hacks it one way or another.
Plus if you 'let' your partner access then you allow access which cancels out the 'without permission'.

As for being okay with him accessing my phone messages... I have nothing to hide, but that doesn't mean I want my partner to know everything I talk about with my children, mother, friends.
I doubt anyone knows everything from what their partner thinks, says, discusses with others.
Also doubt anyone would want to know every single thing as that would be a huge flood of information 24/7.

And if someone doesn't trust me, well... not a good relationship.

Trust is earned. There is sensitive information on my phone, which is pin protected. Once we’ve earned trust, I have no problem with someone looking or even asking questions . Just don’t abuse the privilege.

My is password protected and no. I won’t share or give access to it to anyone.
I also don’t want to know or have access to my partner’s phone or laptop or computer.
I believe in privacy. My mom always says: if you search you will find, I don’t want to find, so I don’t search! :sunglasses:

I encrypted my phone as soon as i took it out of the box (android). I use a different passcode on all my devices, all storage within them is encrypted as well.

I use protonmail. No facebook, gmail only gets junk mail.

I use bitwarden (open source) for my password manager/generator. The master password isnt saved anywhere its in my head, which gets access to a separate bitwarden with 1 saved 128 character generated password.

That password gets into my real bitwarden account. But then they need to know my emails attached to both accounts. And on top of that i also use a 2fa ubikey to also get into my bitwarden and laptop/pc's. And if the accounts for other websites saved to the manager have 2fa i activate that as well. No account i have uses the same password. If the account password feature only allows max characters that are under 32 then i use the generator to create one at the max allowed. Otherwise 32/64/128 are used.

Proprivacy website has plenty of good information and step by step how to's for you to increase your knowledge around data privacy for your devices.

I am waiting to receive a Light phone II sometime mid september. Sent emails to both the developers of both the light phone and signal messenger app to see if they can possibly make it so that phone can either run signal or better yet, make it the standard messenger app for their phone.

As for giving access to others, i have already set up a legacy link to both my parents. So if something happens to me they can use the link to get full access to what i have set up after 7 days. I gave 1 week buffer incase one of their accounts gets hacked and they try and use those links. I will be notified by email if the links are activated, then i can just deny access.

I would do the same for my partner as i have for my parents.

It may seem like overkill, or to much. But honestly once you set it all up. After that is just added more accounts as you need.
