I'm not sure if this is a real problem but on many apps theres countless fake users and scammers and mingle is unfortunately on the list I had to block over 100 and counting so my question is will mingle do something about them?

Mingle2 constantly bans fake/scammer profiles all day long.. It is not as easy as one thinks for every one that gets banned an average of 10 get created..

The Site ask that all members use the Report System to Report those that are fake/scammers.. But remember just because one make think they are a scammer/fake it is not always the case or there is nothing to prove that..

And when members go off site and they try to scam them Mingel2 can not ban accounts when it happen off the site.. For there is no proof on Mingle2 that it happened..

So all the site can do is ask members to keep their conversation within Mingle2 and use the Report System.

All Reports are dealt within a timely matter..

I report loads....multiple profiles in different locations is the easiest to see.

IF you see anyone claiming to live in Westminster, in London, they're a guaranteed fake - no one actually lives there, it's either government offices, or thousands of pounds per week rent!

Glad to know they are working on it. HOWEVER, serious question here, why not make it mandatory to answer at least those 9 basic questions everyone can see??!! I don't have the stats but it seems like at least 50% of the fakes here are the virtually blank profiles. Making those 9 (or 10, forgot) questions mandatory to answer would only take someone about THREE MINUTES but I bet that would cut down these scammers because these are the absolute laziest scammers I've ever seen and many won't go through the "effort". I'm no computer genius but I think that this ONE easy change to this site would drop the scammers by a huge percent! Why are they not doing this???!!! Thanks

The site has actually added some new programs lately directed towards scammers/fakes which have been helping.

I can not answer your question for I can not speak for IT as far as what programs they plan on adding in the future..

If profiles are empty all members have the choice to pass up those profiles.. And all members have the option to set their filters on who can contact them through emails..

It's so easy to spot fake profiles. I have a long list of blocked fakes and scammers.

The best way to prevent scammers and fake profiles is to make everyone sign in with their email address, providing other members cannot see these of course.

They have done nothing over 3 years and i have had over 1000 scammers.

Reporting does nothing, even when im told a person is in a different country or there are more than one profile with the same pics and i report it they are still on so it doesnt matter, i would never pay for this site the way it is.

Can't argue with that. Why should tens of thousands of us be tasked with cleaning up this site when Mingle can easily be doing much, much more? If I didn't know any better, maybe its because they can say to the advertisers "Advertise with us, we have X million active users", when, in fact, its the real number is easily HALF that if you didn't count the scammers. There MUST be a reason Mingle doesn't want to clean this up when they can.

I do understand everyone's concern on the matter of scammers/fakes.

I have in fact sent the link to this thread to Upper Admin with your concerns.. But those of us that Admin/Mod the forums only deal with issues within the forums..

We do not deal with profiles unless they are posting within the forums...

The threads within Help/Bug are for when members need help so we can help answer their questions. We do not allow chit chat within these forums.

If and when Admin ask for feedback we will create a thread so members can voice their opinions on what they would like the site to improve on..

I know for a fact that several programs have been put in place within the last 6 months and some of those have helped. Even tho they have not stopped the scammers/fakes they have helped cut down on them..

All we can do is ask members to contact support with their concerns for Upper Admin does not deal/read the forums..

Since the Topic from the OP was answered, this thread will be locked..Admin has been notified they need to read this thread.
